Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

Gusain was a gentlemanly Morora exile who repeatedly organized uprisings against the Church of Knowledge without being captured. Hoping to seize the power beneath the cemetery, he recruited capable prisoners and invited “Louis” to join his insurgents. Lumian instead demanded proof of the group’s value, so Gusain agreed to search for Albus Medici and administer a test in the underground fog of war. The apparent recruitment was a trap: Gusain belonged to the Iron and Blood Cross Order and cooperated with Albus to ambush Lumian near an altar connected to 0-01 (Chapters 2230–2240)

Gusain later performed a secret ritual with the Lamp of Calamity to strengthen an iron soldier. Lumian’s hidden additives diverted the ritual toward the Great Mother, transforming Gusain into a pregnant, motherly woman and linking the near-demigod soldier to him. Gusain attacked Albus and then targeted Lumian, but Wanak’s lightning killed the unborn creature, drained Gusain’s vitality, and finally killed him as well (Chapters 2246–2250)

Appearance and personality

Gusain initially appears as a mature, blue-eyed gentleman in a silk top hat, carrying himself with polished courtesy even while discussing rebellion and murder. He is persuasive, cautious, ambitious, and adept at turning recruitment into conspiracy. After the corrupted ritual, his hair lengthens, his body becomes feminine and pregnant, and his expression acquires a sinister maternal radiance.

Pathways and abilities

Gusain is a Hunter-pathway Beyonder, but the corpus does not explicitly name his exact Sequence. He uses bright-white fireballs, strong danger perception, ritual knowledge connected to Fourth Epoch Trier, and iron soldier puppets. The Lamp of Calamity ritual temporarily produces a soldier with weakened Iron-blooded Knight power; Gusain’s later regeneration, soul-draining howl, and shared damage belong to the Great Mother mutation, not his normal pathway repertoire.
