Guei

Guei was a serial killer exiled to Morora alongside Lumian and secretly a Mirror Person from Fourth Epoch Trier. He entered the sealed city to seize 0-01, but caution born from comparing himself with stronger contenders left him waiting until Lumian could turn his own corruption against him. (Chapters 2224 and 2260–2269)

Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

Guei presented himself as a bespectacled, scholarly young exile and spent time in the Knowledge Cathedral after reaching Morora. In reality he was one of the rare Readers transformed into a Mirror Person, using the cathedral to supplement his knowledge while investigating the path to 0-01. (Chapters 2224 and 2260–2267)

After observing Albus Medici, Wanak, Julie, and Lumian, Guei concluded that he was the weakest contender and hid in reflective armor near the corpse mountain. He planned to let the others destroy one another, then emerge from the mirror world to kill the survivors and claim the sealed artifact. (Chapters 2260–2267)

Lumian Lee located him through Malice Perception and contaminated him through Desire Incarnation. Guei's Mirror Substitution could move him away from direct attacks but could not remove the high-level corruptions, which transformed him into an unobservable monster; after battling Albus and Celeste, he was dismembered, and anomalous flames burned the fragments to ash. (Chapters 2267–2269)

Appearance and personality

Guei appeared as a young, bespectacled scholar, a presentation that concealed both his serial murders and Mirror Person identity. He was intelligent and patient enough to study the sealed city, but insecurity about his relative weakness drove him toward an opportunistic strategy and eventually exposed his intense malice. (Chapters 2224 and 2260–2267)

Pathways and abilities

Guei originated from the Reader pathway and possessed a Mirror Person's access to reflections, the ordinary mirror world, and Mirror Substitution. He learned quickly and knew much about Morora, but he could neither withstand Lumian's layered high-level corruptions nor maintain a stable form after they took hold. (Chapters 2260–2269)

Relationships

Guei served the interests of the Mirror People and regarded Morora's other contenders as obstacles to his mission. Lumian exposed and corrupted him, while his ensuing monstrous clash with Albus Medici and Celeste left him fragmented before the remnants burned away. (Chapters 2261 and 2267–2269)

Items

Guei used smooth metal armor as a reflective hiding place but is not shown owning a named mystical item. His objective was 0-01, the charred banner atop the corpse mountain, which he never obtained. (Chapters 2260–2269)
