Groselle
Biography
Life in Klein's Era
Groselle was a young giant drawn into the book world later called Groselle's Travels. Rather than becoming the cruel monster other races expected, he gathered companions from mutually hostile peoples and spent centuries pursuing the story's central goal: defeating Ulyssan, the King of the North. His frank optimism and refusal to abandon newcomers turned a prison disguised as an adventure into a genuine fellowship (Chapters 576, 693–700).
When Klein Moretti's group joined the final hunt, Groselle accepted the most punishing role. Even after Ulyssan crushed his chest and shattered his broadsword, he reignited the light of dawn, held the dragon's attention, and roared that giants never retreat. The party won, but Groselle died from his wounds after confirming their success. Leaving the book caused the centuries held at bay to catch up with his remains; his body decayed to a skeleton and left a Guardian characteristic. Klein took charge of his ashes in the hope of eventually returning him to the Giant King’s Court (Chapters 700–703).
Appearance and personality
Groselle stood nearly four meters tall as an adult and had grayish-blue skin, a single vertical eye, and the massive build of a giant warrior. Despite that intimidating form, he smiled simply, scratched the back of his head when embarrassed, and treated companions with openhearted warmth. He was frank, honest, optimistic, and protective, with a courage grounded in responsibility rather than aggression (Chapters 697, 701–702, 720).
Pathways and abilities
Groselle was a Sequence 5 Guardian of the Warrior pathway. He possessed tremendous strength, endurance, and defensive power, could manifest the light of dawn as protection and as a weapon, and used a broad sword to hold enemies much larger than ordinary humans. His Guardian defenses had limits: Ulyssan's repeated blows shattered them and inflicted mortal injuries. His adolescent memories also show that his power was acquired over time, not an innate license to treat all giants as equivalent (Chapters 697, 700–702).

- Ulyssan: The frost dragon whose defeat allowed the trapped party to leave the book.
Items
- Broadsword: Groselle's giant-sized weapon; it shattered during the final battle.
- Groselle's Travels: The book world was named for him, but it was his prison and narrative environment rather than an item he owned.
