Gandalf

Gandalf is the president of the Curly-Haired Baboons Research Society, a transmigrator and Warrior-pathway Beyonder whose curiosity about mysticism is matched by a strong sense of responsibility for the society’s members. (Chapters 1808–1810 and 2013)

Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

After April Fool’s betrayal became undeniable, Gandalf helped institute the Review Committee, contractual safeguards, and a purge of compromised members. He worked with Hela to investigate the traitors and accepted personal responsibility for having allowed the Research Society to remain too loosely governed. (Chapters 1842–1844 and 2024)

At Port Santa, Gandalf joined the operation against April Fool’s, captured Bard, and brought him to the Nation of the Evernight. He allowed Lumian’s harsh interrogation because the victims, not he, had borne April Fool’s crimes; once the questioning was complete, Gandalf personally ended Bard’s life with Sunrise Gleam and acknowledged the society’s duty to repair the harm. (Chapters 2019–2027)

Gandalf continued to lead Research Society discussions about Mirror People, the Hidden Sage, and the approaching apocalypse. His latest confirmed role remains that of an active president and investigator protecting a far more cautious organization. (Chapters 2185–2187 and 2488)

Appearance and personality

Gandalf reincarnated as a nearly 2.4-meter-tall, middle-aged Feysac man with a half-giant build and evident giant ancestry. He enjoys liquor, research, and mysticism, and combines intellectual enthusiasm with empathy, patience, and an unusually candid willingness to accept institutional blame. (Chapters 1808–1810 and 2024–2027)

Pathways and abilities

Loki’s investigation identifies Gandalf as a Warrior-pathway Beyonder, but the supplied chapters do not establish his exact Sequence. He can form a straight sword from Sunrise Gleam and has the physique associated with giant blood, while his broader importance lies in research and leadership rather than a fully displayed combat repertoire. (Chapters 2013 and 2026)

Relationships

  • Hela: His closest senior partner in investigating April Fool’s and governing the Research Society after the purge. (Chapters 1842–1844 and 2023–2027)
  • Lumian Lee / Muggle: Gandalf sympathizes with Lumian and Aurore’s fate, assists Lumian’s revenge, and permits him to continue using Muggle’s identity within the society. (Chapters 2024–2027)
  • Bard: Gandalf interrogates and executes him, treating the act as the society’s responsibility rather than personal vengeance. (Chapters 2023–2026)

Items

From the Port Santa spoils, Gandalf selected the semi-finished Ring of the Sea Queen for study. It carries a single high-level Steal effect and the drawback of drawing an ancient Angel’s attention, so he left it in Hela’s Nation of the Evernight and planned to study it before gatherings.
