Frunziar

Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Frunziar Edward was a Loen soldier swallowed by Groselle’s Travels and incorporated into its adventuring party. The book granted him the role and powers of a Disciplinary Paladin, while his conversation and reflection earned him the nickname “the Philosopher.” After 165 years inside, he still hoped to return to Backlund and learn what had become of his family, but accepted that the city and era he remembered had changed beyond recognition (Chapters 697–698)

Frunziar guarded the party, restricted the frost dragon Ulyssan’s flight, punished its violations, and helped carry the dying Groselle toward the exit. Once outside the book, the centuries caught up with him and he died facing west toward Backlund. No characteristic formed because his potion and powers had been conjured by the book rather than consumed in the real world; his companions cremated him so his ashes could be returned home (Chapters 699–703, 720–732, 1122)

Appearance and personality

Frunziar is a black-haired, sharp-blue-eyed Loenese man in heavy black armor. He is alert, dutiful, thoughtful, and highly conversational after years spent with quieter companions. His anxiety about his descendants coexists with disciplined courage and loyalty in the final battle.

Pathways and abilities

Within Groselle’s Travels, Frunziar functions as a Sequence 5 Disciplinary Paladin of the Arbiter pathway. He can declare prohibitions such as banning flight, punish violations, imprison movement, and pronounce death against a wounded target. These powers are illusory constructs of the book; outside it, he produces no Beyonder characteristic and has no surviving real-world potion legacy.
