Freja

Freja was Liv's elder daughter, a teenage laundry worker who pursued literacy despite East Borough poverty. She helped secure the rescue of her kidnapped younger sister Daisy, but died beside her mother during the Great Smog of Backlund. (Chapters 373–378 and 481–482)

Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Freja was away making a laundry delivery when Daisy was abducted by Capim's men. On returning, she helped seek assistance rather than surrendering to the family's powerlessness, and Klein Moretti and Old Kohler ultimately restored Daisy to Liv and Freja. (Chapters 373–378)

Freja worked long hours while studying words in a small vocabulary notebook, hoping education could change the course of her life. That effort was cut short when the Great Smog killed her and Liv together; Klein later used divination to locate their burial place. (Chapters 373–378 and 481–482)

Appearance and personality

Freja was seventeen or eighteen, with the quick, nimble bearing of a fawn. Her habit of recording and learning vocabulary showed disciplined ambition, while her response to Daisy's disappearance showed responsibility and loyalty to her family. (Chapters 373–378)

Pathways and abilities

Freja was an ordinary human with no pathway, Sequence, boon, or supernatural ability. Her practical strengths were literacy, perseverance, and laundry work, none of which could protect her from the Great Smog. (Chapters 373–378 and 481)

Relationships

Liv was Freja's mother and coworker, and they died together. Daisy was her younger sister, whose abduction drove the family's contact with Klein and Old Kohler. (Chapters 373–378 and 481–482)

Items
