Life in Klein's Era

Darc Regence was Derrick Berg's cheerful former classmate and patrol teammate, and joined Lovia's expedition to a ruined temple of the Fallen Creator. He returned outwardly unharmed but unnaturally reserved, making Derrick suspect that the quarantined team had been corrupted despite its apparently successful exploration (Chapters 385–397)

After quarantine, Darc visited Derrick with food that appeared to be Doom fruits and an alluring mushroom, while describing murals that glorified the Fallen Creator. Protection connected to The Fool stripped away the illusion, revealing human fingers and a bloodstained scalp. Darc mutated into a mass of bloody, hairy flesh and attacked; a hidden City of Silver observer restrained him, after which his relatives had to perform the city's customary execution to prevent a dead family member from becoming an evil spirit (Chapters 398–401)

Appearance and personality

Before corruption, Darc was a medium-height, slightly plump, strong teenager with a friendly smile. He was optimistic, cheerful, and polite. After the expedition, the same smile became distant and mechanical, and his final mutation turned him into a mass of flailing, flesh-like appendages.

Pathways and abilities

Darc was a Sequence 8 Gladiator of the Giant pathway, granting enhanced strength and combat ability. The alluring food illusion, fanatical behavior, and monstrous flesh transformation followed his corruption at the Fallen Creator's temple and should not be treated as ordinary Gladiator powers.
