Cynthia
Cynthia is Admiral Amyrius Rieveldt's beautiful mistress in Oravi, descended from a noble family whose title had been stripped before its exile to the island. (Chapter 621)
Biography
Life in Klein's Era
When Klein Moretti impersonated Amyrius, his contract explicitly prohibited intimacy with Cynthia because her familiarity could expose the substitution. Cynthia nevertheless treated the apparent admiral with affection, helped him dress, shared meals, and tried to comfort the pain she sensed in him. (Chapters 621–627)
Her desire to bear Amyrius's child made her vulnerable to the Mother Tree of Desire. She transformed into an enormous tree-like body covered with warts and flowers and approached Klein with a corrupted request; he destroyed the mutation, and the later investigation recorded Cynthia's death and the external influence behind it. (Chapters 628–632 and 1224)
Appearance and personality
Before her mutation, Cynthia is a beautiful, fair-skinned woman who can be affectionate, perceptive, and emotionally supportive. Her longing for intimacy and pregnancy becomes the opening through which corruption twists those traits into a grotesque tree-like form. (Chapters 621–628)
Pathways and abilities
Cynthia has no established Beyonder pathway. Her final strength, abnormal size, flowers, tree warts, and reproductive corruption come from the Mother Tree of Desire rather than a potion she chose or controlled, and the transformation leaves her vulnerable to Klein's supernatural counterattack. (Chapters 628–632 and 1224)
Relationships
Amyrius Rieveldt is Cynthia's patron and lover, while Klein Moretti encounters her only while impersonating him. Cynthia's emotional dependence protects the disguise at first, but her corrupted desire turns her into a direct threat to Klein. (Chapters 621–632)
Items
No individually named item belongs to Cynthia; her final supernatural state is bodily corruption, not an artifact's effect. (Chapters 628–632)
