Chief Yagates
Biography
Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse
Chief Yagates served as the highest police authority in Zhou Mingrui’s dream city, initially operating through ordinary departmental reports and Officer Deng. Fors identified his honorific name as a comparatively safe way to attract attention or open a channel inside the dream. She also clarified that he was not the historical Mr. Door restored to life, but a symbolic manifestation formed by Bethel Abraham’s remnant spirit, Klein’s subconscious, and pressure from the Celestial Worthy (Chapters 2416, 2441–2447)
When Lumian met Yagates directly, references to the Abraham family and defending the city from evil-god invasion produced his strongest positive responses, while Amon and the Blood Emperor stirred partial familiarity. His policing decisions helped reveal how the dream’s restrictions and competing spiritual imprints worked. He has no demonstrated independent body or continuity outside the dream city (Chapters 2450–2462)
Appearance and personality
Yagates appears as a rigid middle-aged man with deep-black hair streaked with white and deep-brown eyes that look nearly black. He is controlled, formal, and difficult to read, yet shows a protective bias toward the dream city and matters tied to the Abraham family.
Pathways and abilities
Chief Yagates symbolizes the Door pathway’s Uniqueness rather than following a normal potion progression inside the dream. His honorific name can attract attention and open channels there, and his authority shapes police access and responses. These effects depend on the dream’s symbolic rules; reciting the name outside may be ineffective or dangerously attract the Celestial Worthy instead.
