Beatrice
Biography
Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse
Beatrice Incourt inherited a winery from her late husband and secretly became a core Bliss Society member. Using Actor abilities to pose as the art dealer Theresa, she entered Adaina’s circle and tried to spread the Society’s doctrine through trusted social relationships. Lumian and Franca identified her before that infiltration matured, killed her to avoid a prolonged fight, and channeled her spirit for information about the Society’s leadership and Maipú Meyer (Chapters 1850–1851)
When Beatrice’s boon began returning to the Mother Tree of Desire, her corpse mutated and threatened to expose everyone nearby to the distant entity. A concealed Demoness intervention isolated the building long enough for the power to settle into her diamond necklace. Franca took that resulting item and continued using it, while Beatrice remained dead and the Society lost both a core operative and hidden intelligence (Chapters 1852–1854, 1879–1920, 2153, 2242)
Appearance and personality
Beatrice is beautiful but is chiefly seen under an Actor’s false identity; after death her face is pallid and vacant. She is secretive, socially manipulative, and committed enough to the Bliss Society to build intimate access under another woman’s identity. Her spirit’s answers also reveal the factional disdain she and other women held toward Maipú Meyer.
Pathways and abilities
Beatrice is a Sequence 6 Recipient through a boon from the Mother Tree of Desire. She retains earlier Actor abilities for changing appearance and behavior, and her pathway manipulates desire, recognition, intimacy, and bodily corruption. Her powers are bestowed rather than potion characteristics and normally return to their source at death; the special isolation around her corpse makes the necklace an exception.
