Biography

Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse

Associate Professor was a transmigrator and Academy-team Warlock who met the member code-named Professor through their matching titles and later married her. His practical research produced spells such as Weed Removal, which Aurore recorded and Lumian later used against supernatural plants. After the April Fool’s betrayal, he helped his team negotiate new safeguards and abandoned a planned Trier gathering when secrecy and trust could no longer be assumed (Chapters 1808–1975)

As the Hidden Sage’s knowledge infusions became increasingly violent, Associate Professor joined other Warlocks in sharing observations and testing shelters in the catacombs. He and his wife sought a way home only if their children could accompany them, but placed survival first. When Franca recruited support for the operation against the Hidden Sage, Associate Professor volunteered; Professor, being stronger and in better condition, went instead while he remained to protect their family (Chapters 2187–2250, 2488–2496)

Appearance and personality

Associate Professor is a man whose real face and name remain concealed; at one gathering he wears a brown paper bag as a mask. He is inquisitive, family-oriented, collaborative, and willing to take risks for his companions, while accepting his wife’s better judgment when her higher Sequence makes her the safer choice.

Pathways and abilities

Associate Professor is a Sequence 7 Warlock of the Mystery Pryer pathway. He can learn and construct varied spells, conduct ritual research, and analyze supernatural phenomena; Weed Removal can force even highly vigorous Beyonder plants into dormancy. His power is constrained by preparation and knowledge, while the Hidden Sage’s involuntary information infusions can overwhelm his mind and body.
