Angelica

Angelica Barrehart is the receptionist and attendant of the Tingen City Divination Club who registers Klein Moretti and manages his early work there. (Chapter 48)

Biography

Life in Klein's Era

Angelica welcomed Klein into the club, issued his member cufflinks, recorded his specialties and fees, and directed customers to his divination room. As his startlingly accurate readings accumulated, she learned to respect his judgment and saw her own easy confidence in ordinary divination shaken. (Chapters 48–56 and 62–82)

She continued running the reception desk, arranging clients and refreshments while greeting Klein and his acquaintances. Her final appearances leave her still working at the club, with no later calamity or change of status established. (Chapters 95–153)

Appearance and personality

Angelica is a pretty brunette with a pleasant, professional smile. She is courteous, observant, and discreet enough to keep her distance during private readings, while her occasionally red or unfocused eyes show that her polished service manner does not erase personal emotion. (Chapters 48–62 and 95)

Pathways and abilities

Angelica is an ordinary human with no established Beyonder pathway. She understands the Divination Club's mundane methods, schedules, prices, and client etiquette, but has no demonstrated supernatural divination power of her own. (Chapters 48–56 and 82)

Relationships

Klein Moretti is a club member whose fees and customers Angelica manages; his genuine Seer results reshape her view of the practice. She also receives Selena, Christina, Anna, and other visitors as part of her work. (Chapters 48–56, 82, 111, and 132)
