Life in Klein's Era

Alfred Hall was Earl Hall's second son and chose military service in the Southern Continent rather than his elder brother's political route. He sent Audrey rare materials, rose from colonel to major general through campaigns in West and East Balam, and advanced to Sequence 5. The work hardened him without severing family loyalty; returning home, he warned Audrey about potion madness and accepted her help as a Psychiatrist once he learned she was already a Beyonder (Chapters 177–418, 952–966, 1328–1336)

On his voyage home, Alfred's caution kept his party aboard when their liner entered the nonexistent port of Utopia. After leaving, he reported the anomaly to MI9 instead of satisfying his curiosity, judging that further private investigation would invite needless danger. During the later attack on the Hall estate, he prioritized withdrawing guards to protect his parents and siblings. He remained alive with his military rank and family ties intact at the end of Klein's era (Chapters 1329–1355, 1393)

Appearance and personality

Alfred has dazzling blond hair, deep blue eyes, and the composed bearing of a young general and nobleman. He is vigilant, practical, and shaped by Southern Continent warfare. He can be teasing and direct with his family, but his response to Utopia and the estate attack shows disciplined caution rather than a desire to prove courage through reckless exposure (Chapters 1329–1355)

Pathways and abilities

Alfred is a Sequence 5 Disciplinary Paladin of the Arbiter pathway. Earlier Sheriff abilities let him determine the source of suspicious activity and strengthened his hearing, observation, and physical constitution. As a Disciplinary Paladin, he can establish restrictions and punish violations, although the corpus does not display his complete combat repertoire. His resistance to fatigue and ordinary addictions is enhanced, but he still acknowledges the pathway's psychological risks (Chapters 1329, 1333–1336)

Relationships

• Audrey Hall: Younger sister whom Alfred protects and later recognizes as a capable Psychiatrist.
• Hibbert Hall: Elder brother and political counterpart; their youthful differences soften into friendly rivalry.
