Ait
Biography
Cordu, Trier, and the Approaching Apocalypse
“Hammer” Ait operated as a muscular underworld enforcer whose Pugilist strength made him dangerous in direct combat. When Lumian confronted him amid Trier's gang conflict, Ait recognized that a straightforward exchange favored his opponent and tried to prolong the encounter with prepared gas canisters, using anesthetic and stimulant effects to change the conditions rather than relying on fists alone (Chapters 1596–1602)
The delaying tactics failed to overcome Lumian's greater versatility and aggression. Lumian killed Ait, and the dead fighter's Sequence 8 characteristic was later sold to Gardner Martin, ending Ait's role in the underworld while feeding the same network of Beyonder advancement that had made him an enforcer (Chapters 1603, 1634–1704)
Appearance and personality
Ait is a heavily muscled man whose nickname and build reflect a career in close combat. He is aggressive and accustomed to using physical intimidation, but he is not tactically simple: when pressured, he uses chemicals and timing to seek an advantage. His confidence cannot compensate for the gap between a specialist fighter and Lumian's broader arsenal (Chapters 1596–1603)
Pathways and abilities
Ait is a Sequence 8 Pugilist of the Warrior pathway. He possesses enhanced strength, speed, resilience, coordination, and trained hand-to-hand combat. His reliance on gas canisters shows the pathway's limitation at this level: close-range superiority can be bypassed, and external equipment is needed to control a more versatile opponent (Chapters 1596–1603)
