Infernal Blacksaber

The Infernal Blacksaber is a sentient Half-Ancient Sage weapon captured from an Otherworldly Demon commander. Unlike a human-forged upgradable weapon, it grows by devouring the blood and souls of powerful cultivators, which gives it an intense malevolent aura. (Chapter 1,676)

History

Capture and feeding in the enemy camp

Zhang Xuan binds the saber with blood after defeating its commander and learns its name and growth condition. He permits it to consume the commander and later hostile soldiers, rapidly raising its strength. The saber accepts him as master and fights autonomously beside the Golden Origin Cauldron during Zhang's infiltration of the Otherworldly Demon army. (Chapters 1,676–1,679)

Breakthrough in the Canvas of Four Seasons

After absorbing the blood and souls of a vast Otherworldly Demon force, the saber lacks only a catalyst for Ancient Sage. The Aeon of Ancient Sages inside the Canvas of Four Seasons triggers its breakthrough, and Zhang supplies additional Ancient Sage blood so the process does not drain and destroy the painting. The newly advanced saber becomes a standing Ancient Sage-level protector and later tears through barriers and fights soul artifacts during the Spirit Tribe campaign. Abilities and properties

The saber drains fresh blood and souls to strengthen its spirit and tier. At Ancient Sage level, a simple slash can kill large numbers of Sempiternal consummation experts, exploit cultivation flaws, and break powerful barriers. As a weapon without meridians or zhenqi, it is unaffected by magnetic fields designed to disrupt a cultivator's energy circulation. Its recognizable aura can expose Zhang despite a physical disguise.
