Yu Shenqing
Yu Shenqing is the emperor of Hongyuan Empire and Yu Fei-er's father. He is a regal but pragmatic ruler whose decisions around the royal Bodhi Saint Tree bring him into repeated contact with Zhang Xuan. (Chapters 849, 859)

The Bodhi Saint Tree and Zhang Xuan
When the royal Bodhi Saint Tree sickens, Yu Shenqing has already exhausted conventional help and initially hesitates over Zhang Xuan's destructive-looking treatment. He ultimately trusts Zhang Xuan, allowing him to burn the diseased growth; the tree recovers, and Yu Shenqing responds with a Bodhi seed and a costly gift from the treasury. He also discreetly learns that Zhang Xuan will become academy principal and later supports the inauguration without revealing the secret prematurely. (Chapters 872–875, 891, 904, 918, 1,090)
Appearance and personality
Yu Shenqing carries the commanding air of an emperor but is capable of revising a judgment when presented with evidence. He is protective of his daughter and his clan's inheritance, cautious about soul-oracle activity, and conspicuously grateful once Zhang Xuan benefits the Yu Clan. (Chapters 849, 859–862, 918)
Abilities and cultivation
Yu Shenqing is assessed at Saint realm 1-dan pinnacle. He can activate palace formations, communicate through zhenqi telepathy, and has detailed knowledge of the Bodhi Saint Tree's cultivation and soul-calming properties. (Chapters 849, 859, 891, 918)
