Ye Qian
Ye Qian is Huanyu Empire's crown prince and a student of Hongyuan Master Teacher Academy. He returns to manage the dispute over entry to the Cleansing Lake, where imperial interests collide with the requests of his academy seniors and the visiting vassal states. (Chapters 607–644)
Biography
The Cleansing Lake dispute
Ye Qian invites Princess Yu Fei-er and her companions to Huanyu, then presides over a controlled tournament to distribute the Cleansing Lake slots. He insists on a best-of-three format and orders combatants to stop after surrender, attempting to turn a political dispute into a bounded contest. When the lake destabilizes, he follows Emperor Ye Wentian's command to evacuate the guests and promises to search for Zhang Xuan's displaced soul. He later leaves for Hongyuan and remains part of the academy circle around the returning students. (Chapters 607–678 and 684–738)
Appearance and personality
Ye Qian is a young royal and master teacher whose manner is formal and procedural. He is attentive to rank and relationships, but during the Cleansing Lake emergency he responds to danger rather than clinging to the contest. (Chapters 615, 629–631, and 644)
