Biography

Commander drawn into a false feud

Wu Shu commands Sovereign Chen Ling's forces and distrusts Bei Xin, his counterpart under Sovereign Chen Xing. Zhang Xuan murders messengers, assumes identities, and plants bodies and accusations until both commanders believe the other has launched a treacherous attack. Wu Shu charges into battle with his golden saber and demonstrates Saber Quintessence, but Zhang Xuan's clone ambushes him and Bei Xin, bursting both commanders' heads. Zhang Xuan then uses Wu Shu's appearance to continue manipulating their armies. (Chapters 1,684–1,707)
