Lu Feng

Lu Feng is the Apothecary School head who serves as Hongyuan Master Teacher Academy's acting principal during Zhang Yinqiu's absence. His concern for institutional order becomes entangled with personal judgment, leading him to oppose Zhang Xuan before seeking redemption on the Otherworldly battlefield. Biography

Authority, error, and penance

Lu Feng first investigates the missing Byzantium Helios Beast and the disasters surrounding Zhang Xuan, but his friendship with You Xu and his mounting suspicion turn him into one of Zhang Xuan's principal institutional opponents. After the supposed Yang Xuan explains the young man's background and Zhang Xuan becomes principal, Lu Feng is punished and voluntarily enters the Subterranean Gallery. There he loses an arm, continues fighting Otherworldly Demons, and admits that danger has stripped away his attachment to authority. Zhang Xuan later rescues his group despite Lu Feng's initial inability to trust the disguise, completing an arc from punitive certainty to active atonement. (Chapters 805–847 and 947–961)

Appearance and personality

Lu Feng is a tall, black-bearded elder who dresses simply despite his high office. He begins proud, suspicious, and protective of academy hierarchy; the Subterranean Gallery leaves him pale, one-armed, and calmer, with a sharpened resolve to repay his mistakes. (Chapters 805 and 947–950)

Abilities and cultivation

He is a high-ranking master teacher and apothecary with Half-Spiritual Perception cultivation, strong investigative instincts, and the authority to coordinate academy schools. His judgments can be distorted by incomplete evidence, while sustained battlefield service reinforces his cultivation and composure. (Chapters 805–821 and 947–957)

Relationships
