Biography

A dangerous courtier

Liao Xun presents a controlled and comparatively courteous exterior, but his position was won in the lethal politics of the Poison Hall. He becomes involved in the contest over its leadership and in the upheaval caused by Zhang Xuan's disguised entry. Unlike several rivals caught in the crisis, Liao Xun is still alive when the Tianwu-era storyline moves on and he leaves the capital's immediate stage. (Chapters 276–400)
