Jin Conghai
Jin Conghai is a 4-star poison master who conceals his occupation while serving Zhao Feiwu. He is also the former teacher of Poison Hall master Gu Mu, giving the apparently ordinary retainer a professional history and authority unknown to most people around him. (Chapters 430–448)
Biography
A poison master in a retainer's guise
Jin leaves the Poison Hall to avenge himself, kills his enemy but suffers grave injuries, and is saved by Zhao Feiwu's father. Out of gratitude he enters the family's service and avoids using poison publicly, accompanying Zhao Feiwu through Tianwu and Xuanyuan Kingdom. His concealed expertise makes him both guardian and adviser: he can threaten hostile royals when given authority, recognize dangers that exceed the party, and later watches over Zhao Feiwu while she remains connected to Zhang Xuan's affairs. Appearance and personality
Jin presents himself as a diligent older subordinate rather than a feared poison specialist. He is discreet, deferential toward Zhao Feiwu, grateful to her family, and cautious about confronting powers beyond his group. (Chapters 430–448 and 505)
Abilities and cultivation
As a 4-star poison master, he has the knowledge to train Gu Mu and the hidden threat associated with high-level poisons. His self-imposed refusal to use poison openly limits what he displays; much of his practical role is protection, judgment, and conventional cultivation rather than public poisoning.
