Blackback Tortoise is a Semi-Divinity aquatic beast hunted by Ascendant Cloud Sword Pavilion experts in the Sea of Little Mirror. Its great defense and careful reading of the battlefield let it reverse their trap before Zhang Xuan intervenes. (Chapters 2,035–2,040)
Biography
From quarry to contracted guide
The tortoise recognizes the Double Ripples Water Formation, manipulates the surrounding mayflies, and nearly turns the hunters' preparation against them. Zhang Xuan identifies its strategy, survives the confrontation, and ultimately tames it. The tortoise then becomes his guide through the Ocean of Exiled Stars, warning that the three Shark Brothers combine superior offense with intimate knowledge of its weaknesses. Despite its fear, it continues accompanying Zhang Xuan, joins ocean battles after the sharks are subdued, and is later deployed with his other Semi-Divinity beasts against Kong shi's clone. Appearance and personality
It has a massive, bulky body and a shell capable of shrugging off concentrated sword attacks. Cautious and strategically alert, it is willing to retreat from stronger ocean predators and openly advises its master against reckless odds. (Chapters 2,035–2,041)

The tortoise specializes in defense at Semi-Divinity realm; ordinary attacks scarcely scratch its shell. Its size and low speed are exploitable weaknesses, and the offensive Shark Brothers can overwhelm it despite sharing the same realm. (Chapters 2,035–2,041 and 2,073)
