Space Bag
A Space Bag is a rare Aegis storage device capable of carrying equipment far larger than its exterior. Access controls and scarcity make ownership a visible sign of institutional trust and service.
History
Aegis reward and field use
Nick first handles Ghosty's bag during the transition to Liaison work, then earns one after proving that his reforms can improve Crimson City. The reward astonishes other Extractors because even Aegis Agents normally share only one or two between a team. Nick uses it for clothing, bodies, Containment Units, and mission equipment, but temporarily surrenders access during his long training term. His original bag is destroyed with his human body; once he can imitate a human and operate the security mechanism again, he resumes carrying a replacement. (Chapters 497, 551, 556, 561, 580, 587, 590–591, 606, 708, and 732–740)
Abilities and properties
- A bag holds objects much larger than its visible size, including equipment and large Containment Units, but the corpus does not give a universal volume or weight limit. (Chapters 551, 556, and 590)
- Each unit uses a sophisticated, individual access procedure; incorrect operation leaves it locked. (Chapter 732)
- Specters cannot be stored inside one even when enclosed in a Specter Cage. Nick also cannot operate a bag in his ordinary Specter form, although a sufficiently exact human transformation restores access. (Chapters 695, 708, and 732)
