The Icestorm

The Icestorm, whose true name is Aurelia Icegem, is an Aegis Shield and a former superior of Simon Francium. Her discipline and judgment make her a possible successor to the Left Arm, although her intimidating public image prevents consideration for the Right Arm’s role. (Chapters 830 and 834)

Biography

Suspicion, Hatred, and the Pursuit of Death

Icestorm enters Nick’s investigation as a respected Shield whose former service near Envy makes her a plausible route for infiltration. Nick falsely accuses her of serving Greed and measures her frightened, furious reaction to confirm she is human; after exoneration, she supports his containment strategy rather than letting the insult override the threat. She later kills Hatred with a devastating sniper shot while Inferno creates the opening. Nick subsequently misdirects her and Inferno onto a false Adversary trail, but she remains alert enough to follow him after his arrangement with Death is exposed. Once detected, she joins the surrounding force and helps suppress Death, preserving Aegis despite having been repeatedly manipulated by its supposed ally. (Chapters 830–834, 850, and 880–906)

Appearance and personality

Aurelia is a tall woman with icy-blue hair and a cold, commanding presence. She is intelligent and controlled in command, but the accusation of Specter allegiance produces genuine panic and anger. Her stern image inspires confidence inside Aegis while limiting the public-facing offices for which leaders consider her suitable. (Chapters 830–834)

Abilities and Zephyx

Icestorm has Shield-level physical and Zephyx power and radiates cold associated with her title. She specializes in long-range combat with a sniper rifle: with Inferno’s distraction, one shot produces enough destruction to kill Hatred.
