Fourth Mountain Echelon

Lin Cong represents the Fourth Mountain in the Echelon and recognizes Xu Qing as the forty-ninth Princess of the Underworld. Han Qinglei lures Lin Cong toward the Eighth Nation by offering the possibility that Meng Hao and Han will exhaust one another. He arrives in a bronze chariot pulled by a million souls and threatens Meng Hao's clan, only to find that Meng Hao has already taken the Eighth Nation's seal and received the realm's qi-flow blessing. Lin Cong is a handsome young man with long black hair who wears white in the Windswept Realm and gray when later seen in the Fourth Mountain. He radiates supreme confidence and prefers to arrive with the spectacle of a death emperor. Ambition makes him opportunistic: he recognizes Han Qinglei's bait yet comes because he expects to steal both sides' rewards. He is also exceptionally difficult to kill, using followers, memory sacrifice, longevity, and Echelon lives as successive layers of escape. His weakness is pride hardened into obsession. Defeat damages his Dao heart so deeply that even three thousand Great Daos do not free him from the need to attack Meng Hao. Repeated Ancient Realm path

Like several veteran Echelon members, Lin Cong once stepped into the Ancient Realm and then forced his cultivation back down after judging the path incorrect.
