Guardian of the Echelon

Granny Nine receives Meng Hao as one of the three senior human-faction leaders of the Nine Seas God World. After introducing herself, she and her peers explain the ruined Paragon Immortal Realm, the Three Great Daoist Societies, and Paragon Sea Dream's Echelon. Granny Nine presents their central conclusion: Echelon cultivators are selected because they have the potential to become Paragons, and the Daoist Societies exist to cultivate that possibility for the survival of the Mountain and Sea Realm. She offers Meng Hao sect-wide access to resources and Daoist magics, an Immortal's cave, an identity medallion, an ancient Immortal artifact, and Paragon blood. More importantly, she commits the sect to opening the Windswept Realm. Granny Nine explains that its shattered Essence is easier to perceive, allowing an Ancient Realm candidate to form a Dao Fruit and approach Essence, the doorway to the Dao Realm. Her instruction is practical as well as grand: Meng Hao must adapt to the Ninth Sea's pressure, challenge the Golden Gate trials, and prioritize survival if he cannot defeat the other Echelon members. Conflict inside the Nine Seas God World

The Demonic Cultivator Horde repeatedly tries to isolate Meng Hao from his protectors. Granny Nine, Godmaster, and Ling Yunzi cannot simply overrule every faction because the sect's Dao and Ancient Realm power is divided. They instead use agreements, warnings, and carefully limited intervention to keep the conflict from becoming civil war. When a Demonic Dao Realm Patriarch finally attempts to seize Meng Hao directly, Granny Nine appears beside him and breaks the giant hand formed from altered natural law. She then plants her dragon-headed cane and releases Essence power, forcing the dispute back into negotiation. (Chapters 1060, 1070, 1074–1075)

Her protection includes material support. During the Golden Gate wager, she gives Meng Hao an extraordinarily valuable Dao-grade restoration pill that returns his depleted cultivation to its peak within breaths. She and the other patriarchs recognize the anti-Ancient nature of his fleshly-body Soul Lamps, allowing them to understand that his unusual progression requires igniting rather than extinguishing those lamps. Her role is thus not only to defend him, but to identify what his unprecedented cultivation means. (Chapters 1080–1081)

Opening the Windswept Realm

Granny Nine joins six other Dao Realm patriarchs in seven pillars of light while the entire Nine Seas God World forms a supporting array. Their combined power opens a rift to the Windswept Realm and sustains the connection while the expedition proceeds. When upheaval inside the realm severs that link, the backlash makes Granny Nine and the other patriarchs cough blood and shatters the pillars. The failure shows the scale and limit of their authority: they can open and anchor passage to a damaged lower realm through sect-wide cooperation, but cannot control the realm once its own Essence and external forces violently change. Appearance and personality

Granny Nine is an old woman whose first manner toward Meng Hao is kind and approachable. That warmth coexists with an uncompromising sense of mission. She explains cosmic history patiently, offers resources without demanding verbal gratitude, and praises resolve expressed through action. Against rival patriarchs, her tone becomes cold and authoritative. She understands that the Nine Seas God World is politically divided and therefore distinguishes between threats that require negotiation and attacks that cross a line demanding immediate force. Her advice to kill Echelon rivals if possible but protect one's life if not reflects the same pragmatic balance. (Chapters 1041–1043, 1070, 1074)

Dao Realm Essence power

Granny Nine can interfere directly with natural law. A tap of her finger collapses the gigantic hand of another Dao Realm patriarch, and striking her dragon-headed cane against the ground releases Essence power across the area. The exchange leaves her face pale and makes the opposing patriarch grunt, indicating a genuine collision between peers rather than an effortless victory. Sect authority and strategic restraint

As a matriarch of the Nine Seas God World, Granny Nine can grant access to the sect's cultivation caves, magics, treasures, and trials. That authority is substantial but not absolute. The Demonic Horde and other factions possess their own Dao Realm patriarchs and a larger combined share of some sect forces, which means she must uphold agreements and build consensus with Godmaster and Ling Yunzi. Her strength lies in combining personal deterrence with institutional leverage so that opponents cannot attack Meng Hao without paying a political and martial price. Realm-opening formation

Granny Nine serves as one of seven Dao Realm anchors for the Windswept Realm passage. Each patriarch occupies a light pillar, while Immortal and Ancient Realm disciples power a sect-wide formation beneath them. This layered structure explains how the passage works: the patriarchs focus and direct the connection, but its energy and stability depend on the whole sect and corresponding God Worlds. Cultivation knowledge and resources

Her expertise includes Echelon selection, Ancient Realm progression, Dao Fruits, Essence perception, and rare anti-Ancient fleshly-body cultivation.
