Noxus Magi Training Fragment

The Noxus Magi Training Fragment is the surviving introduction to an ancient Magi training manual, hidden among mundane Noxus records. Its damaged pages give Wolfe his first structured understanding of Magi practice and transfer the incomplete Inheritance spell that shapes his later progression.

History

The hidden family record

Uncle Ivan and Elder Roman reveal that the Noxus family preserved a pamphlet-sized group of charred pages after the Magi purge. The thin book is disguised among business reports and family census folders, where an outsider would have no reason to search. Its plastic-protected pages are incomplete, but they are the first direct Magi instruction Wolfe has ever seen. (Chapter 8)

The surviving text introduces the elemental aptitudes expected of a young Magi, a basic Fire circle, the development of internal mana storage, and fragments of a much more advanced human-body diagram. The material lets Wolfe connect his accidental magic to a formal lineage rather than treating it as an isolated anomaly. (Chapter 8)

Transfer of the damaged Inheritance

When Wolfe touches the partial body diagram, the page glows and magic travels up his hand, leaving a runic spell across his forearm. This incomplete Inheritance gives him an internal store of family knowledge but is damaged in proportion to the missing manuscript. Later relics repair or expand that spell; they do not replace the physical fragment's custody. (Chapters 8 and 170–172)

After the transfer, Ivan closes the book and places it back on the concealed shelf. Wolfe leaves with the spell and remembered lessons, while the physical pages remain in Noxus family safekeeping. (Chapter 8)

Properties and limitations

  • The fragment is readable training material covering basic Fire, Lightning, and Gravity concepts, mana storage, and early Magi development. (Chapter 8)
  • A surviving diagram acts as a transfer medium for the Noxus Inheritance, causing runes to form on Wolfe's forearm when he touches it. (Chapter 8)
  • Most of the manual is gone. Pages are charred, sections are missing, one reverse is mostly black, and the advanced body diagram is only partial. The resulting Inheritance is correspondingly incomplete. (Chapter 8)
  • The object does not remain on Wolfe's person. His later access is to the transferred spell and knowledge; the physical manuscript stays hidden with the family.
  • The fragment is not a complete leather grimoire. It is a thin, pamphlet-sized, plastic-protected remnant bound to resemble ordinary records.
