Morgan Davos Knowledge Crystal

The Morgan Davos Knowledge Crystal preserves the history of Morgan Davos and Lady Morgana alongside a large library of peacetime magic. Its account reframes the origin of the Morgana name, while its practical spells become part of Wolfe's effort to rebuild useful Magi knowledge.

History

Trade in Gormana

A Gormana village elder produces a full, undamaged Magi knowledge crystal while negotiating with Wolfe. She offers it in a separate exchange for his help optimizing the potential of the village's girls and young women. Wolfe accepts the bargain, places the crystal in his backpack, and becomes its custodian. (Chapters 411–412)

Kira later senses the object in Wolfe's pocket and immediately recognizes that it is intact. Wolfe has not yet examined it, so the two activate it together. Kira warns that knowledge crystals can contain traps and reasons that her Rank Four strength should help them resist anything set by a weaker maker. (Chapters 428–429)

The Davos and Morgana record

The crystal first presents the story of Morgan Davos and Lady Morgana. It withholds the attached spells until the listeners follow the historical narrative, making context a condition of access rather than optional decoration. The record connects Lady Morgana to the Lumix Family and shows the decisions that later inform the Morgana Coven's inherited identity. (Chapters 429–430)

Once the library opens, Wolfe and Kira find a broad collection of everyday elemental magic. Wolfe uses one clothing configuration when enchanting Kira's kimono and learns methods for creating memory crystals, communication tools, domestic protections, and denser Mana Crystals. When the wandering Davos later helps Wolfe assimilate the library, the sudden influx overwhelms him briefly and contributes to a Magi bloodline breakthrough. (Chapters 431–433 and 436–437)

Properties and limitations

  • The crystal combines a historical recording with an extensive library of spells and counterspells intended for a peaceful society. (Chapters 429–431 and 437)
  • Its demonstrated contents include clothing and household inscriptions, magical sunscreen, radio modification, liquid-temperature testing, improved Mana Crystals, and memory-crystal creation. (Chapters 431–433)
  • Access is gated: listeners must progress through the historical account before the protected spell library becomes available. (Chapter 429)
  • An intact crystal can still be trapped. Safe activation depends partly on the user's ability to overcome magic left by its creator. (Chapter 429)
  • Information transfer is not the same as safe mastery. Wolfe collapses when Davos helps force a large volume of knowledge into him, showing that the user's mind and magical development remain limiting factors. (Chapter 437)
  • The crystal's color, cut, and exact dimensions are not stated. It is portable and bears fine inscriptions visible through Detect Hidden.

Associated characters

  • Wolfe Noxus: Wolfe acquires, activates, studies, and retains the crystal, then applies its library to artificing and magical education.
  • Kira: Kira identifies the intact relic, evaluates the risk of opening it, and studies its history and spell library beside Wolfe.
