Molly (catgirl)

Molly is a young feline beastkin pulled into the Divine One’s Lowest-Planes trial with Wolfe’s household. She adapts to Unholy Fire, survives environments designed to torment much stronger captives, studies practical magic in Luton, and later helps Forest Grove assess Pentacle candidates. She is not Mollie, Jenna’s Witch twin; early Molly spellings for that character are unrelated source variants.

Biography

The Divine One’s trial

Molly is napping beside Stephanie when the Divine One abducts them into the Lowest Planes. Initially a low Rank One magic user, she accepts a Servant bond and mana-system improvement from Wolfe, lays shock traps, advises the party from beastkin instincts, and learns to channel Unholy Fire through an enchanted coin. Her soft blue flame becomes disproportionately effective against the realm’s conjured creatures. (Chapters 878–883)

Adaptation and escape

Through tunnels, illusions, acid swamps, undead, and a bone dragon, Molly contributes senses, tactical suggestions, and whatever magic the Rank Five trial cap allows her to channel. Lower-Planes energy lingers in and changes her body without producing a named numbered rank. She remains frightened but functional, and the group’s eventual escape to Luton makes her a survivor rather than an incidental hostage. (Chapters 884–900)

Luton student and Forest Grove assessor

In Countess Dewinter’s household, Molly adapts quickly to servant-facing noble customs and studies the Fallen world’s magic alongside Lula. A professor praises the technical quality of her barrier despite her modest power, while Molly records spells she cannot yet cast safely. Back in Forest Grove, she supervises candidate shadowing and library work, demonstrating reserved judgment about boundaries, teamwork, and who wants responsibility rather than power alone. Appearance and personality

Molly is a small teenage catgirl or feline beastkin with animal ears and strong low-light vision. The corpus does not securely establish hair, fur, or eye colors, and she should not be depicted as Stephanie’s cat form or as the adult Witch Mollie. Her canonical action image is a young adventurer focusing soft blue Unholy Fire in the oppressive Lowest Planes. (Chapters 878–890)

She is reserved, practical, observant, and brave without pretending not to be afraid. Molly notices hidden-den logic, questions privacy hazards in Detect Hidden, and adapts to unfamiliar etiquette. Later, she is embarrassed by other candidates’ public intimacy but handles it with discreet instructions rather than cruelty, showing growing confidence as a supervisor. Magic, abilities, and limitations

Unholy Fire adaptation

Wolfe enchants a coin as an Unholy Fire focus, and Molly activates it more easily than the witches can. Her first stream is small, but the flame spreads on contact and exploits the Lowest-Planes creatures’ vulnerability. Energy from the realm later remains in her body, establishing a persistent Lower-Planes adaptation without an announced formal rank. (Chapters 879–900)

The adaptation is narrow rather than universal. Molly initially needs the coin’s prepared spell, remains much weaker than the Rank Five-limited senior party, and cannot simply reproduce Wolfe’s full Unholy repertoire. The source never names a numbered advancement, so effective blue flame and altered compatibility should not become an invented Rank Two or Demon transformation. (Chapters 879–900)

Beastkin senses and practical magic

Molly sees well in darkness, notices den and tunnel patterns, and uses shock traps, barriers, and classroom formations. Her sensitive vision makes Wolfe’s Detect Hidden spell reveal too much until she lowers it, illustrating that stronger perception can itself require control. In Luton, technical precision lets her form a barrier above what a professor expects from someone at her level. (Chapters 878–890 and 929–944)

Judgment and service

Molly learns household work and noble etiquette without being reduced to property. She helps Lula study, participates in Countess Dewinter’s restored estate, and later evaluates candidates through ordinary assignments. Her authority is delegated and experience-based: she can report behavior and mentor newcomers, but she is not a Pentacle member or independent Forest Grove ruler. (Chapters 904–944 and 999–1005)
