Headmistress Peach

Headmistress Peach is Morgana Academy’s formidable administrator and one of the adults most consistently willing to protect students from Coven politics. She begins as Wolfe’s disciplinarian, becomes an ally of Forest Grove after seeing its results, reaches Second Rank, and continues defending education through rebellion, invasion, political reconstruction, and an aura-destroying biological attack.

Biography

Head of Morgana Academy

Peach introduces the incoming class, oversees its examinations, and immediately confronts the evidence that Witch bloodlines are weakening. Her anger is directed less at individual candidates than at the political marriage system that has traded magical continuity for status. When Cassie and Ella summon the same human Familiar, Peach refuses a reflexive severance that would cripple two students and instead investigates their exceptional compatibility before deciding how the Academy should respond. (Chapters 24–27)

Her protection operates through rules as well as mercy. Peach recognizes Stephanie beneath the Stephen Isabel disguise, blocks the concealment, and punishes Wolfe for harboring an unregistered Witch and creating an unauthorized reversed bond. The ruling is coercive, but she also fabricates an official departure for Stephen and keeps Stephanie’s identity secret rather than returning her to the family that abused her. Peach repeatedly makes imperfect institutional decisions under circumstances where ordinary procedure offers no safe result. (Chapters 55–62)

Forest Grove and Second Rank

After the Monster Tide and Morgana rebellion, Peach volunteers to accompany a delegation into the Frozen Wastes because she recognizes the Council’s attempt to arrange a fatal mission. Forest Grove overturns her expectations: former students whose auras were destroyed are alive at Second Rank, mutant children can awaken cleanly, and a mixed settlement has built schools, industry, and protection without Coven control. Her reaction moves from defensive suspicion to intensive observation and educational negotiation. (Chapters 298–303)

Wolfe clears the last Bloodline-Curse blockages in Peach’s mana system, triggering an immediate Second Rank aura compression. The advancement restores part of her youthful appearance and potentially extends her working life by generations, but she refuses to abandon the Academy for the Coven Council. At the festival she summons a huge shape-shifting Werewolf as her second Familiar and accepts a spell-laden staff designed for travel, truth, disguise, and oversight. (Chapters 303–319)

Rebuilding the Academy alliance

Peach returns to an Academy contaminated by curse energy from the rebellion. With Wolfe supplying mana, she casts a cleansing strong enough to drive the residue from the grounds, then briefs Professor Ashcroft on Forest Grove’s underage awakening, recovered witches, and mixed-species education. Her response is to import knowledge and safeguards rather than hoard the discovery, while maintaining enough secrecy to protect both institutions from immediate political retaliation. (Chapters 323–342)

The alliance persists as outside threats grow. Peach helps stabilize students after southern violence, receives Ella’s intelligence about the United World, quietly facilitates contact with Morgana Fortress, and permits Wolfe and allied Fae to reinforce Academy purification and defensive systems. She remains responsible for a conventional school but increasingly uses Forest Grove as a research, recovery, and security partner whose methods can solve failures the old Coven system cannot. Morgana security and the aura plague

Peach later joins the delegation dealing with Morgana’s political and security settlement. Her presence connects Reiko’s council, the Academy, Forest Grove, and proposed outside guardians at a time when the school itself is attacked through off-world portal warfare. Even when absent during the breach, she remains the authority the Fae protector expects to return, and the negotiators treat restoring the Academy’s safety as part of Morgana’s wider reconstruction. On her way back, Peach is infected by a weaponized agent that causes Witch spells to fail and auras to collapse. She reaches Morgana despite a broken radio so she can warn Wolfe that a similar strike against a Saint could destabilize the world. Ella, Wolfe, and Cassie cure her through combined healing and controlled destruction of infected tissue; Peach then helps validate the treatment and returns her attention to the affected Academy and medical staff. Appearance and personality

Peach first appears as a middle-aged-to-elderly Witch with shockingly green hair. Before her breakthrough, age has faded that hair and lined her face. Second Rank’s increased natural attunement darkens her hair, smooths some signs of age, and settles her into an early-middle-aged appearance rather than true youth. Her later staff and Werewolf Familiar reinforce an imposing silhouette suited to a headmistress who can arrive by magic or air. (Chapters 24, 303–304, 317, and 319)

She is intimidating, pragmatic, curious, and fiercely possessive of the Academy’s independence. Peach can frighten students with a glare, but remembers drafted pupils individually and becomes emotional when she finds them restored. She distrusts political schemes, refuses a Council retirement, and takes meticulous notes when Forest Grove demonstrates unfamiliar magic. Her harshness is therefore best understood as protective institutional discipline, though Stephanie’s punishment shows that it can still constrain vulnerable people. Magic, abilities, and limitations

Peach is a broadly trained Witch whose demonstrated magic includes Air, Fire, healing support, cleansing, armour, transport, truth-related oversight, and Academy-scale ritual work. Her only explicit formal rank change is the advance to Second Rank in Chapters 303–304; no later higher stage is confirmed.

Witch aura and Second Rank

Before Forest Grove, Peach is one of Morgana’s most powerful living witches but remains below the condensed Second Rank state because remnants of the Bloodline Curse obstruct her mana system. Wolfe’s brief cleansing removes the last blockages, after which her aura compresses and reforms on its own. The denser aura improves efficiency, natural attunement, longevity, perception, and the capacity to summon a second Familiar. (Chapters 303–304)

The breakthrough is enabled rather than manufactured from nothing: Peach was already so close that removing the obstruction makes advancement inevitable. Rank Two does not make her invulnerable. The off-world infection later drives her aura toward collapse, defeats ordinary magical cleansing, and requires Cassie’s active healing plus Wolfe’s Unholy Fire to destroy infected tissue. The corpus gives no secure Rank Three or later advancement. (Chapters 303–304 and 840)

Air, cleansing, and institutional magic

Peach’s Air Magic is strong enough to help lift an APC from mud and smooth rapid travel. At the Academy she uses cleansing across the grounds, driving out curse residue with Wolfe’s mana support, and casts armour and Fire when immediate protection or disposal is required. Her Familiar can look through her eyes, adding another channel for observation during travel and administration. (Chapters 298–300, 317, 323–324, and 840)

Scale imposes clear costs. Cleansing the Academy’s entrenched curse requires direct contact with Wolfe and enough transferred mana to empty his storage; faculty initially mistake the resulting clouds for a renewed threat. During the aura plague, Peach’s Fire sputters against infected blood before destroying it, and even Rank Five healing can contain rather than cure the agent. Her magic succeeds through diagnosis and combined methods, not effortless rank superiority. (Chapters 323–324 and 840)

Familiars and enchanted staff

Peach’s first Familiar is Fae and provides observation, communication, and enough protection that hostile Council members cannot easily arrange her death during the Forest Grove journey. Second Rank unlocks another summoning, which produces a three-metre black wolf able to transform into a deeply tanned human man. The Werewolf appears physically dangerous and devoted to Peach, although the corpus does not establish a broad spell repertoire beyond shapeshifting. (Chapters 298–300 and 317)

Forest Grove also gives Peach a flying utility staff with truth-speaking, illusion, and perfume or scent-disguise charms. It supports travel, investigation, and covert supervision by letting her alter how she looks and smells while checking statements. The staff’s prepared spells remain equipment, not innate abilities, while the Werewolf’s acquisition is a companion unlocked by rank rather than an independent formal power stage. Education, investigation, and leadership

Peach understands Familiar compatibility, aura testing, spell curricula, Truth-assisted review, and the institutional needs of a large Academy. She evaluates unprecedented bonds without destroying them, studies early awakening, arranges protections after rebellion, and uses Forest Grove’s discoveries to improve teaching and recovery. Her long experience also lets her recognize former students and judge whether political delegations are designed to fail. (Chapters 24–27, 55–74, and 298–342)

Her authority has limits. The Coven can drag the Academy into drafts, rebellion leaves curse contamination behind, and off-world portals bypass prepared barriers. Peach sometimes protects students by secrecy or unilateral punishment, choices that solve immediate danger without becoming transparent or consensual. Her later alliance with Reiko, Wolfe, and Fae defenders reflects recognition that educational independence now depends on shared intelligence and layered security.
