Sumeru Ring

The Sumeru Ring is Zhou Weiqing's exceptionally large-capacity Spatial Ring. Acquired from Heaven's Expanse Palace for his Xuantian expedition, it holds supplies, artifacts, and personal items on a scale far beyond an ordinary storage ring.

History

Provisioning an ocean expedition

Before crossing the ocean, Zhou and Shangguan Bing'er fill the silver-gemmed ring with food, water, vegetables, and fruit. Its capacity is large enough to contain a mountain, making it possible to carry enough preserved provisions for years at sea. Zhou finally understands Shangguan Tianyang's pained reaction to parting with such a valuable palace treasure, but the ring's support is treated as a small cost beside the survival of Heavenly Jewel Island. Zhou continues using it casually after entering the Xuantian Continent, placing travel papers and other possessions inside. Its contents also expose his origin: after the Terror Sea Dragon battle, Dreamwake removes the ring from the unconscious Zhou, recognizes the Sea Emperor Shuttle stored within it, and confronts him with proof that he came from the Boundless Mainland. The ring is restored to his finger after that confrontation. (Chapters 239 and 251–252)

Long-term personal storage

During the return voyage, Zhou repeatedly withdraws the Sea Emperor Shuttle from the ring and stores it again when leaving the water. He later continues using the Sumeru Ring for small valuables, including a bottle of the Elven Empress's blood, showing that it remains in his possession well after the expedition. Abilities and properties

• Exceptional capacity: The ring can hold an entire mountain. The text illustrates this scale by estimating that grain stored inside could feed one hundred thousand soldiers for half a year. (Chapter 235)
• Sealed vacuum: Like Spatial Rings generally, its interior is completely isolated from the outside world and forms a perfect vacuum. Food therefore rots only with great difficulty, making the ring well suited to long voyages and military provisioning. (Chapter 235)
• Large-object storage: The seven-meter, extremely heavy Sea Emperor Shuttle fits inside and can be withdrawn or recalled quickly, alongside the expedition's provisions and ordinary personal items. (Chapters 235, 251, and 257–258)
• Limits: The ring stores objects but does not itself propel, teleport, or operate them. Its security also depends on its wearer: Dreamwake can remove it while Zhou is unconscious and inspect enough of its contents to identify the hidden shuttle. (Chapter 251)
