Overlord Bow

The Overlord Bow is Zhou Weiqing's first Consolidated Equipment: a Strength-restricted bow with intrinsic explosive force and sockets that carry Elemental Skills on its arrows.

History

First Consolidated Equipment

Zhou encounters the Overlord Bow design among Huyan Aobo's Grandmaster-level scrolls. Its annotation restricts it to Strength-attribute Heavenly Jewel Masters and notes a socket for an Elemental Jewel. After Huyan accepts Zhou as a disciple and supplies the scroll, Zhou consolidates the bow onto his first Physical Jewel. Although that choice prevents the first Jewel from becoming part of a single uninterrupted Legendary Set, it gives him a long-range weapon suited to both his physical strength and unusual number of attributes. The bow quickly becomes his principal ranged weapon. He summons it from his Physical Jewel, inserts an Elemental Jewel into its socket, and combines its explosive arrows with Stored Skills during ambushes, duels, and military raids. It also remains strong enough to serve as an improvised close-combat weapon when Zhou uses its body to strike Zang Lang after a Blink. (Chapters 17–22, 28–30, and 42)

Socket upgrades and battlefield legacy

Huyan later spends two years making a Socketing Scroll specifically for Zhou. The scroll adds a second socket, enabling two Stored Skills to travel on one arrow; the first combat demonstration chains lightning paralysis into Spatial Shackles. Zhou subsequently uses one of the Socketing Scrolls obtained from Heaven's Expanse Palace to create a third socket. Three simultaneous skills greatly increase the bow's versatility, but their Heavenly Energy cost prevents him from treating maximum socket use as his normal firing mode. Zhou also adapts the Overlord design for other archers. Reduced or attribute-adjusted versions become the basis of the Peerless Battalion's explosive and piercing Consolidated bows, whose massed volleys devastate cavalry at long range. These are derivative bows rather than transfers of Zhou's personal weapon, which remains one of his own Consolidated Equipment pieces when he reaches nine Jewels. Abilities and properties

• Explosive archery: The bow adds strong penetration and an inherent explosive effect to its arrows. Its full draw is difficult even for Zhou early in his career, but the resulting projectile is faster and more destructive than one fired from a Purple Dawn Bow. (Chapters 17, 19, 28, 31, and 60)
• Elemental sockets: The original bow has one socket. Two added Socketing Scrolls eventually make it a three-socket bow capable of carrying up to three of Zhou's Stored Skills on a shot, including combinations of control, disabling, and offensive effects. (Chapters 12, 35, 50, 117, and 142)
• Range and rate of fire: Overlord-pattern bows can reach an absolute maximum of roughly 1,200 yards, with slightly shorter distances used for accuracy. Maintaining the summoned bow is relatively economical, allowing Zhou to fire rapidly with physical strength alone when he does not imbue every arrow with costly skills. (Chapters 60 and 145)
• Limits: Only a Strength-attribute Heavenly Jewel Master can use the original design. Multiple socketed skills consume much more Heavenly Energy, and the bow's Grandmaster grade cannot be raised to God Tier merely by adding sockets. Its advantage also decreases after enemies close into melee range, when Zhou changes weapons. (Chapters 12, 107, 117, 142, and 204)
