Yi Shi — Heavenly Jewel Change

Yi Shi is the vice leader and principal support archer of the Heavenly Bow Unit. She specializes in sneak attacks, Ice Attribute control, and shots that create openings for other archers, most notably Gao Shen's explosive follow-up. The translation alternates gendered language for Yi Shi and repeatedly uses “Transvestite” as an in-story nickname; this article follows the predominant she/her narration in her later scenes without claiming a more specific identity than the local corpus establishes.

Biography

The Heavenly Bow Unit's support specialist

Mu En first describes Yi Shi as the Heavenly Bow Unit's vice leader, best battlefield support, and unmatched planner of treacherous or indirect attacks. When she appears in person, she joins the aftermath of Mu En and Zhou Weiqing spying on the bathers and deliberately stirs Shui Cao's anger. Hua Feng has to stop the teasing from escalating, establishing both Yi Shi's authority within the unit and her taste for provocation. (Chapters 30, 33)

Her covert-attack expertise survives in Zhou's later fighting style. During the Heavenly Jewel Tournament, he uses the Sky Descent Arrow, identified as Yi Shi's secret technique. Zhou has learned only about half of it, yet can keep an arrow aloft before it descends unexpectedly and releases a Stored Skill against an opponent's defense. The borrowed technique shows Yi Shi's instructional legacy even while she is absent from the tournament. (Chapter 73)

Reunion and the airborne-archer proposal

Yi Shi reunites with Zhou alongside the surviving Heavenly Bow Unit members and accepts a role training his Peerless Battalion. When Zhou proposes giving Physical Jewel Masters Consolidated wings, she immediately recognizes that an accurate five-hundred-yard airborne force could threaten even higher-cultivation Heavenly Jewel Masters. She cannot use the plan herself because she is an Elemental Jewel Master without a Physical Jewel for Consolidation. (Chapters 133–134)

In the group's first wolf-cavalry encounter, Yi Shi fires a silent Ice-wrapped arrow directly into the leading target. The freezing effect sharply slows or immobilizes rider and mount, allowing Gao Shen's following Fire arrow to explode against them. Her arrows continue striking the front of the charge and reducing its speed while the precision archers attack eyes. Instructor and rear-guard archer

During the Heavenly Bow Unit's first pursuit exercise with four hundred Peerless trainees, Yi Shi and Shui Cao use sufficiently fierce counterattacks to hold off most of the rule-breaking ruffians. The result reinforces her specialty: control and disruption can preserve space even when numbers erase the instructors' expected advantage. (Chapter 135)

Yi Shi later rides with the unit during retreat from Unicorn Cavalry. The seven God Archers kill at least one enemy with almost every arrow, but mounts continue dying and riders must be pulled onto companions' horses. Yi Shi drops her usual playful presentation, warns Hua Feng that the attrition cannot continue, and helps prompt the switch from a failing mounted withdrawal to prepared close combat. (Chapter 158)

Appearance and personality

Yi Shi is about 1.75 metres tall, with long flowing pink hair, fine and attractive features, a flat chest, and a visible Adam's apple. She presents with feminine gestures and styling, and the narration's pronouns fluctuate rather than offering a consistent explicit explanation of her gender. (Chapter 33)

She is sly, provocative, and comfortable using indirect pressure both socially and in combat. That mischievous manner can become serious tactical judgment immediately when allies are in danger. Her willingness to advise Zhou's military design, hold back swarming trainees, and identify unsustainable losses supports Mu En's description of her as the unit's best battlefield support. Abilities and cultivation

Ice Attribute support archery

Yi Shi is an Ice Attribute Elemental Jewel Master with no Physical Jewel, so she cannot Consolidate Equipment wings. Her arrows carry freezing force that can encase or sharply slow the lead elements of a cavalry charge. The effect controls pace and exposes a target rather than serving as the final kill by itself, making it particularly effective when paired with Fire explosions or precision shots. Sky Descent Arrow
