Valdis is a prince of the Mirror Kingdom and leader within Team Shining Scabbard. His theatrical confidence and shameless recruiting conceal a capable adventurer who values strong teammates more than royal solemnity. (Chapters 161, 174, 926)

Biography

A prince chooses the adventuring life

Valdis enters the Reaper trials as a foreign adventurer quick to recognise Clive's talent and repeatedly tries to recruit him, even in front of Clive's existing team. The humour reflects a serious priority: he judges people by what they contribute in danger rather than by court rank. Years later he is married to Sigrid and insists their whole team join Jason's gathering and Earth expedition, choosing friendship, training and shared risk over remaining a protected prince at home. Magic and abilities

Valdis is a highly trained essence-user adventurer with a powerful direct combat style. His later arena match with Jason demonstrates speed and force sufficient for spectacular charge attacks, but also shows that commitment can be exploited by dimensional counters. (Chapter 889)
