Marcus Hargrave Xenoria is a massive leonid sent by the Adventure Society to restore its compromised Yaresh branch. He combines deliberate theatrical intimidation with careful administration, using his adventurer’s presence to break aristocratic obstruction. (Chapters 732–745, 885)

Biography

Reasserting the Society in Yaresh

Marcus arrives after local elites and officials fail the city, reads both the adventurers’ complaints and the administration’s excuses, and publicly makes himself impossible to ignore. The bombast is strategic rather than mindless: once he has destabilised the aristocrats’ confidence, he works methodically with Vidal, Gormanston and Allayeth to expose messenger-servant infiltrators and organise the underground expedition. His intervention recentres the Adventure Society around protecting adventurers and civilians, preventing nobles from using reconstruction dependence to restore their old dominance. Skills and relationships

Marcus carries a huge axe and projects the threat of a senior adventurer even while doing political and bureaucratic work. His skill is matching approach to audience—overwhelming obstructive nobles, then dropping the performance when direct organisation is more effective. (Chapters 732–745, 885)
