Baseph Rimaros is Liara’s husband and an administrator whose management of an underwater mine places him at the centre of an extremist raid.

Biography

Responsibility beneath the sea

Baseph accepts temporary management of an underwater mining complex during the monster surge, a civilian post that becomes lethal when the Order of Redeemed Light attacks. Unable to outfight the raiders, he seals workers into safe rooms, uses his knowledge of the tunnels to evade pursuit, and sabotages the facility to deny the invaders access. The decision risks workers who have not reached shelter and leaves him carrying intense guilt even after Jason’s team rescues him. (Chapters 464, 543–554)

Survival changes Baseph’s marriage more than decades of political arrangement had. He and Liara had built affection around friendship and their children, but the raid forces both to confront how deeply they depend on one another. Their relationship becomes openly loving, while Baseph returns to the family and administrative life for which he is suited rather than pretending his courage makes him an adventurer. Baseph is an upper-silver-rank essence user with strong aura control and exceptional knowledge of industrial infrastructure, safety systems, supply networks, and mining administration. He has never been a killer when the raid begins; his success comes from local knowledge, stealth, engineering sabotage, and accepting morally costly responsibility rather than combat dominance.
