Vlad

Vlad is the Blood Dragon Clan leader and Tartarus's Second Great Disaster, an infiltrator who has maintained different faces and authority for thousands of years. His title is not a numbered cultivation stage. (Chapters 420 and 505–506)

Biography

Grand Expedition betrayal and the Blood Sea

Vlad initially accepts Neo, Kane, and their companions into the Grand Expedition, presenting himself as another clan leader participating in the descent. Inside Tartarus he reveals the concealed allegiance behind that cooperation. He has served Tartarus across many identities, led the Blood Dragon Clan for millennia, and used the Blood Sea to drown judged worlds and drag them into the Nightmare. His exposure of Nightmare-created Neo and Zera copies erases those constructs; it does not kill the originals. (Chapters 420 and 505–506)

Once exposed, Vlad massacres Expedition members, kills Veldora, and fights Tyr and Nicolas before facing Neo Hargraves. The Blood Sea continually rebuilds his wounds and births new blood creatures, so Neo can defeat him in combat without producing a permanent death. Vlad escapes that confrontation and later appears in dragon form beside the ancient dragons, bowing before leaving without surrendering his true name or allegiance. (Chapters 518, 523, 533, and 688)

Appearance and personality

Vlad is shown with long red hair and crimson eyes before revealing a blood-dragon form. He is relaxed when deception works, treats mass killing as routine service, and uses the assurance of regeneration to taunt opponents who cannot make damage last. (Chapters 420, 505–506, and 533)

Powers and limitations

Vlad commands blood weapons, beasts, regeneration, the World of Blood Sea, and a blood-dragon body. As long as the Blood Sea sustains him, ordinary lethal damage is temporary. The novel calls him the Second Great Disaster but does not state a personal numbered God stage. (Chapters 505–506, 518, 523, and 533)

Relationships

Tartarus is Vlad's master and the reason for his long infiltration. Kane knows him as another Great Disaster but does not share his unquestioning loyalty. Neo becomes the opponent who reveals that defeating Vlad and permanently killing him are separate problems. (Chapters 489, 505–506, and 533)
