Vivienne

Vivienne is the Witch of Time, an immortal witch whose Authority has been largely stolen before her direct introduction. Her attachment to Kevin and grief over the original Kevin shape both her help for Neo and her death. (Chapters 668, 686, 753, and 771)

Biography

Revenge, Time Authority, and Kevin

Kevin brings Nameless Death to Vivienne so she can restore memories of his first life. She initially refuses, then agrees when helping him offers revenge against Moraine, the Witch of Gluttony who stole most of Vivienne's Authority and killed other witches permanently. Vivienne shows Neo Moraine's perspective deliberately, forcing him to confront love spanning two lives and ensuring that Moraine sees his hesitation rather than receiving the uncomplicated reunion she wanted. (Chapters 668 and 685–686)

Vivienne's cruelty toward Moraine is complicated by fear born from their sisters' losses. When Moraine asks to be sent through Time to find Neo, Vivienne refuses, warning that love for a mortal or contested immortal has repeatedly destroyed witches and that lonely sisters may try to take him. The refusal wounds Moraine, but Vivienne understands it as an attempt to stop the youngest witch from repeating a cycle of grief she knows personally. (Chapter 676)

During the Alliance war, Vivienne detects a Dark Age in which past and future become unreadable. Kevin, her Apostle, pursues quests to recover fragments of her Authority. He is distinct from the original Kevin of the ninth Eon whom Vivienne once hoped to restore, but she admits that the present Kevin matters and begs him not to leave. “I” exploits his absence, imprisons Vivienne with Life-flame rods, and takes her remaining Time fragment after manipulating her conflict over which Kevin she would choose. (Chapters 753, 767, 770–771)

Vivienne stops resisting and dies as the fragment is removed. Later characters confirm the death, while discussion of possible future revival remains hypothetical rather than an accomplished return. Her final choice closes the shown incarnation without resolving Kevin's hope that another path might someday exist. (Chapters 771 and 774)

Appearance and personality

Vivienne is poised, sharp, and capable of controlled cruelty, but Kevin sees a private warmth she rarely shows after losing her Authority. Her hostility toward Moraine and Neo grows from loss, revenge, and fear of abandonment rather than indifference. (Chapters 668, 676, and 753)

Powers and limitations

As Witch of Time, Vivienne can control Time and potentially send consciousness to past or future. Stolen Authority sharply reduces what she can see and do, while a Dark Age makes even her remaining temporal sight ineffective. Reincarnation would ordinarily offer escape from death, but “I” keeps her alive while extracting the Authority, preventing that route. No numbered personal Stage is stated. (Chapters 676, 686, 753, and 771)

Relationships

Kevin is Vivienne's Apostle and protector, but not the original Kevin she lost. Her love and guilt toward both identities create the hesitation “I” weaponizes. Moraine is her younger sister and former thief of Authority; Neo becomes the instrument of revenge whose restored memories expose Moraine's hopes. (Chapters 668, 676, 685–686, 767, and 770–771)
