Sir Sebastian

Sir Sebastian V. Roche is the Hargraves family's celebrated butler and a concealed leader of the Temple of Void. The later revelation explicitly identifies the Temple leader as the same Sebastian who raised Henry and Neo like sons, not a namesake servant. (Chapters 189–203 and 568)

Biography

Trusted caretaker and concealed conspirator

Sebastian guards Henry's press conference so effectively that Henry says even an attacking God Clan could not threaten the guests. He manages household visitors, marriage prospects, transport, and adventurer contacts, answering Henry promptly and advising Neo on a temporary team. These duties make him more than staff: the family trusts a living legend who helped raise both brothers. (Chapters 189, 194–196, 203, and 373)

The later family history reverses the meaning of that trust. Sebastian is identified as one of the Temple of Void's leaders and the person who summoned Velkaria, enabling the Outer Gods' attack. The text does not explain whether his care was false, divided, or later regretted. His article therefore preserves both directly established roles instead of resolving the betrayal with an invented motive. (Chapter 568)

Appearance and personality

Sebastian presents himself as a formal, efficient butler who stands below the stage, manages requests discreetly, and rarely challenges his masters openly. Cryptic pauses suggest he knows more than he says, but his demonstrated household manner remains dependable until the later revelation. (Chapters 189 and 194–203)

Powers and limitations

Sebastian is explicitly an Exalted Demigod and is trusted to secure a major public event. His Temple leadership and successful summoning show organizational and ritual importance, but they are offices and actions rather than evidence of a higher numbered rank. (Chapters 189, 198, and 568)

Relationships

Sebastian raises Henry and Neo like sons while serving the Hargraves household. That intimacy makes his Temple allegiance consequential: he does not merely attack strangers but helps create the catastrophe that destroys the world his foster family inhabits. (Chapters 189–203, 373, and 568)
