Sean
Sean Brown is Clara Brown's twin brother and a member of the academy team Lumen. His awakening of Time is tied to memories of a prior history in which Clara died. (Chapters 103, 177–178, and 185)
Biography
The Calamity Window and awakening Time
During the Calamity Window, Sean believes Clara has been killed and emotionally collapses. He later tries to protect a Shadow that looks like her, only for it to reject him and accuse him of killing its brother—Sean's own Shadow. His grief places the team at risk and nearly earns him expulsion, making the mission's lesson less about strength than his inability to distinguish the surviving Clara from a hostile reflection shaped by loss. (Chapters 103–114 and 127)
Sean later awakens the Time element and receives dreams or memories from the previous timeline where Clara actually died. Those memories allow him to understand that Neo changed her fate. In group training he repeatedly regresses short intervals to improve his performance, but Neo notices each reset and exploits Sean's poor stamina. Sean ultimately graduates and enters the Temple of Space rather than remaining at the academy. (Chapters 178, 185, 348–350, and 568)
Appearance and personality
Sean is defined most strongly by attachment to his twin. That devotion can make him reckless and unable to evaluate danger, but the later timeline memories also give him gratitude toward Neo and a reason to train his difficult affinity. (Chapters 103–114, 178, and 185)
Powers and limitations
Sean can regress time during training and retain enough awareness to change his next attempt. The technique drains his stamina, and Neo can detect the repeated regressions. The narration offers an estimate of his control but no formally awarded Time-mastery tier or Awakener rank. (Chapters 348–350)
Relationships
Clara is Sean's central relationship and the source of both his breakdown and later relief. The Clara-shaped Shadow is a separate entity, just as Sean's own Shadow is not Sean; neither Shadow's actions are attributed to the human twins. (Chapters 103–114)
