Mad Hound

Mad Hound is a notorious Soul Hunter target around Tartale. He commands corrupted monsters and captured Zeus Clan souls, but their powers and ranks remain separate from his. The mission's connection to Soul Hunter badges does not itself make Mad Hound a ranked Soul Hunter. (Chapters 145 and 152–156)

Biography

The Tartale hunt

Mad Hound wipes out Selene's former team, then rebuilds his diminished forces with corrupted monsters and Zeus Clan “blood bags.” Selene initially conceals the danger from Neo Hargraves, but the pair use a Black Pearl fruit to draw away his minions and attack him. Mad Hound reveals that the apparent shortage of followers was bait, taunts Selene with her earlier loss, and remains focused on Neo with greed until Selene drives a weapon through his head. Neo destroys the corpse with Death so it cannot be devoured as an escape from True Darkness. (Chapters 145 and 152–156)

Powers and limitations

Mad Hound commands corrupted monsters, recruits or enslaves souls, and fights with the durability and senses of a werewolf-like creature. His strategic cruelty lets him prepare replacements while enemies believe him depleted. Selene can nevertheless pierce his head once the trap is broken, and Neo's postmortem destruction denies any rescue through corpse consumption. (Chapters 153–156)
