The Pentabolt Gourd is a black gourd containing five different types of divine chaos lightning.

History

Treasure-auction purchase

Ning buys the gourd on the seventh day of a treasure auction. Each of its five lightning streams can devastate cultivators below the World level; mixed together, they can threaten weaker World-level experts and entangle stronger ones. (Chapter 823)

Capture and execution

Ning releases the five lightning streams against a gray-mist enemy, destroying eight of its nine escaping manifestations. He later draws World God Foxblaze into the gourd, where the continual lightning exhausts and destroys the captive rather than preserving him as a servant. (Chapters 833 and 835)

Source for Novessence Thunder

Ning identifies all five contained lightnings as compatible with his Novessence Thunder secret art. He places the Pentabolt Gourd beside four additional gourds while preparing the complete set of nine chaos lightnings needed for the technique. (Chapter 861)
