History

Judgment of Ji Ning

After Ji Ning's death on Earth, the Lord of Cui Palace consults the Book while reviewing his life. Its record frames the judgment that precedes Ning's intended reincarnation and the accident that sends him onward with his memories. (Chapter 1)

Foundation of the Netherworld system

The Book belongs to the Netherworld Kingdom established by Mother Nuwa and is one with the Dao of the Heavens. It can produce trillions of copies to administer the reincarnation, karmic merit, histories, and lives of beings across countless worlds. Minor reincarnation cycles lacking the Book must perform those tasks through slower local systems. (Chapters 434 and 484)

Destiny and karmic change

The destinies recorded in the Book are not absolutely immutable. Great karmic merit or intervention by a sufficiently powerful cultivator can alter a mortal's prescribed life, a principle that shapes Ning's understanding of fate and reversal. (Chapter 783)

Abilities and properties

• It can duplicate itself into trillions of copies while remaining integrated with the Dao of the Heavens. (Chapter 434)

Ownership and custody
