Emperor Anchen

Emperor Anchen is the supreme leader of the Aeonian race's Flamedragon branch and the permanent guardian of its five ancestral grounds. An Archon-class Eternal Emperor strengthened by the Aeonian bloodline and a Universe treasure, he first treats Ji Ning as a thief to be hunted and later accepts that the balance of power has made coexistence the only rational course.

Biography

Guardian of the ancestral grounds

Anchen keeps watch from the Aeonian Kingdom's central temple, which is linked to all five ancestral grounds. When the first ancestral ground trembles, he immediately summons Emperors Islehide and Duug and enters with them. They find Ji Ning and Ninedust after the pair uproot the omnigeddon bloodfruit tree and attempt to move Autarch Bolin's blood. Anchen is enraged because both are foundations of Aeonian continuity, but the estate's guardian races enforce Bolin's rules and refuse to let the Emperors bypass trials that Ning has already passed. Anchen had once attempted those trials himself and could not defeat the assembled Archon-class races. (Chapters 1176–1177)

Anchen appeals to the estate-spirit on the premise that Bolin is the Aeonians' ancestor. Instead of killing the outsiders, she corrects his claim: Bolin created the estate and its hundreds of Hegemon legacies during the Dawn War, before he developed the Aeonian bloodline. The legacies belong to future cultivator civilization rather than exclusively to Bolin's later descendants. She also condemns the branch for failing, over thirty million chaos cycles, to produce a Hegemon capable of absorbing the original blood. Anchen's pride gives way to humiliation and urgency as he realizes the estate will eventually abandon his branch. (Chapter 1178)

The hunt for Darknorth

Unable to reclaim the treasures by force, Anchen offers to end hostilities if Ning returns the tree and swears not to spread the Hegemon legacies. Ning and Ninedust refuse and leave with an Autarch medallion. Back in the kingdom, Anchen directs Duug to mobilize Aeonian forces and Islehide to recruit outside contacts. The tree has distilled the Autarch's blood essence for millions of chaos cycles, while the legacies could transform the race's inheritance; recovering both becomes the branch's overriding objective. Anchen declares Darknorth and Ninedust its greatest enemies. (Chapters 1178–1179)

The campaign rests on a severe underestimation. Anchen assumes that finding the two Daolords will make victory easy. When Ning attacks Silksnow Fiend Palace, Anchen sends his avatar to observe, only to learn that Darknorth has defeated more than twenty Emperors and driven Archon Silksnow and Emperor Bloodcloud away. The display destroys Anchen's expectation that an Archon-class ruler can simply crush the thief. (Chapters 1190 and 1196–1199)

Submission to a stronger era

The lesson becomes absolute after Ning tames Flamewing. When Emperor Melobo is killed after infiltrating the Dao Alliance, Anchen refuses the dead Emperor's plea for aid. He orders every Aeonian elder to remain quiet, recognizing that no one can stop Darknorth and that provoking him could destroy their branch. His earlier fury has become strategic restraint: survival now matters more than pride or the bloodfruit tree. (Chapter 1274)

Anchen later joins the other leaders of the Flamedragon Realmverse to witness an Autarch destroy the Yin-Yang Samsara Wheels. He and Islehide feel awkward before Ning but have long since admitted defeat, while Ning chooses not to pursue the old grudge because Autarch Bolin created the Aeonians. The realmverse's rescue leaves Anchen alive and reconciled in practice, if not through a formal alliance. (Chapters 1328–1329)

Appearance and personality

Anchen appears as a handsome youth in elegant black robes, with an awe-inspiring and remote aura. He is proud of the Aeonian bloodline and initially territorial about everything connected to Bolin, reacting to trespass with immediate killing intent.

As a ruler, however, he can change policy when evidence changes. He coordinates subordinates, divides intelligence and diplomatic work according to their strengths, and ultimately abandons revenge once Ning's superiority becomes undeniable. His bitter laughter after Melobo's death shows humiliation rather than denial; he understands that preserving the race requires accepting an era ruled by an enemy.

Abilities and cultivation

Archon-class Eternal Emperor

Anchen is an Eternal Emperor comparable to the eight Archons of the Sacred Cities and the strongest member of his branch. His techniques are reputedly frightening, and his Universe treasure places his overall might not far below a Hegemon. The local corpus does not name that treasure or show Anchen completing a full personal attack, so its individual mechanics cannot be stated more precisely. His inability to pass the first ancestral ground's trials establishes an upper limit: he cannot defeat successive groups of Archon-class beasts that would require true Hegemon power to survive. Aeonian bloodline

As an Awakened Aeonian, Anchen carries a bloodline developed from Autarch Bolin. Unlike ordinary Eternal Emperors, Aeonian Emperors can continue slowly improving through their bloodline after gaining eternity. This advantage does not guarantee Hegemony; Anchen and his branch remain unable to reach the level needed to absorb Bolin's undiluted original blood. The omnigeddon bloodfruit tree matters because it gradually draws and concentrates that essence into a form the Aeonians can use. (Chapters 1178–1179)

Ancestral-ground transit

By igniting Aeonian blood, Anchen and the other Emperors can enter the first ancestral ground. Within that stable estate-world he generates dimensional waves for short-range teleportation, an evasion method that rides existing spatial ripples rather than forcibly tearing space. Exit normally depends on the estate-spirit. The Autarch medallion used by Ning bypasses that limitation and carries its users far beyond Anchen's reach. (Chapters 1177–1179)

Bond with the Aeonian Kingdom

As protector, Anchen is linked to the ancestral grounds and senses disturbances affecting them. He can also merge an invisible ripple of power throughout the Aeonian Kingdom and receive information from the kingdom itself, allowing him to verify whether travelers returned through an ancestral ground. This bond grants exceptional awareness inside his seat of power, but it does not locate Ning after the Autarch medallion transports him elsewhere. (Chapters 1176 and 1179)

Avatar

Anchen can maintain and dispatch an avatar while his true body guards the kingdom. He uses one to observe Ning's assault on Silksnow Fiend Palace without abandoning his permanent post. The avatar extends his perception and presence, but the corpus does not demonstrate that it carries his true body's complete treasure-supported strength. (Chapters 1196–1199)
