Ossep

Ossep is the bald main disciple of the Moon Shield Clan. He begins as one of the academy's privileged students who targets the no-name newcomers, then dies volunteering for a lethal assessment fight.

Biography

Main disciple rivalry

Ossep stands with the other main disciples during the academy's opening test and proposes a contest over who can eliminate the three no-name students first. His contempt turns personal in a later confrontation with Raze: Ossep advances behind his arm-mounted shield, but Raze disrupts his Qi with Descending Steps, uses wind to sharpen a wooden sword strike, and breaks bones in his chest with a punch. The defeat exposes the limits of status and defensive equipment against an unfamiliar style. (Chapters 83–146)

The underground assessment

During the underground test, Ossep volunteers to face the blue-headband examiner Craiger despite the oppressive conditions and the danger already surrounding the assessment. He charges shield-first, but Craiger evades him, cuts his neck, throws him down, and repeatedly stomps his face until he dies. Raze later extracts the residual Qi leaving Ossep's corpse and takes the wooden sword, while Ossep's clan connections can only mourn a death that the assessment's rules do not reverse. Appearance and personality

Ossep is bald and carries himself with the confidence of a main disciple. He is competitive, dismissive of no-name students, and willing to call weaker peers ants or bugs. His decision to volunteer against Craiger also shows courage or pride under pressure, but the text does not clearly distinguish which motive dominates.

Magic, cultivation, and abilities

Ossep is a Qi-using Pagna warrior trained around shield defense. He attaches a wooden shield to his arm, advances behind it, and supplements it with a wooden sword. He is strong enough to be a main disciple, but no reliable exact stage is given. Disruption of his Qi and attacks that bypass or overpower his guard are demonstrated counters.
