Molon's Axe

Molon's Axe is the unnamed lifelong weapon of Molon Ruhr. An ordinary tribal axe transformed by centuries of use and care into an artifact, it accompanied Molon against Demon Kings and in the founding of Ruhr before shattering in his final battle with Incarceration. (Chapters 229, 412, and 592)

History

From tribal warrior to kingdom founder

Molon had carried the axe since becoming an official warrior of his tribe, before he left with Vermouth and met the rest of the hero party. He never named or replaced it during their campaigns. It cut down demonfolk and Demon Kings, then became a tool of reconstruction after the Oath: Molon used it to level mountains and hills, open waterways, dig springs and rivers, and create tunnels while founding the Ruhr Kingdom. By Molon's account, the weapon became inseparable from his identity, memories, and life's work. He personally cleaned and sharpened it after battles, and that long devotion gradually gave the formerly ordinary axe the character of an artifact. Its handle showed centuries of wear and its blade was darkened, yet neither had cracked or chipped before its return to battle. (Chapter 412)

Burial and return

Molon eventually buried the axe in the alternate dimension beyond Lehainjar. He did not want the beloved weapon stained by the noxious blood of the Nur or made to witness his descent into madness, and swore to retrieve it only for a Demon King or an opponent he truly wished to face. In the meantime, he used a different, rugged axe to decapitate the Nur. (Chapters 229 and 412)

He called the original back from inside the mountain when preparing to fight Eugene. Its return immediately changed the scale of his attacks: its blows stamped down the mountain, erased the space between opponents, and leveraged the weight of the surrounding dimension. Molon later carried it back into the wars against Noir, Gavid, and Incarceration. (Chapters 412–415, 557, and 581–592)

Destruction and divine successors

By the battle with Incarceration, the old handle and blade were visibly cracked but still functional. Molon used the axe to tear off the Demon King's arm before a collision with Incarceration's dark power finally shattered it. (Chapter 592)

Molon entered the battle with Destruction without the lifelong weapon. As Eugene's Incarnation and Greatest Warrior, he received a new axe formed from Eugene's divine power. This successor could change size, reform through divine flame after breaking, and continued serving Molon's familiar fighting style, but it was a divine manifestation rather than the surviving original artifact. Abilities and properties

• The original axe's primary force came from Molon's physical strength rather than an inscribed spell. Centuries of use and maintenance nevertheless caused the ordinary weapon to develop into an artifact capable of surviving his grip and repeated clashes. (Chapter 412)
• Its strikes produce overwhelming force at range, can erase the effective space between Molon and a target, and can press the weight of an entire dimension into a descending blow. (Chapters 229 and 412)
• The weapon served as both armament and construction tool, cutting Demon Kings as readily as it reshaped mountains, waterways, and tunnels. (Chapter 412)
• Its endurance was not unlimited. Accumulated wear and the battle with Incarceration left it cracked, and a final collision with the Demon King's dark power destroyed it. (Chapter 592)
• The later divine axe can expand to a sky-cleaving scale and then compress its size and power as it falls. Driving that manifestation at full strength ruptures Molon's muscles, cracks his bones, and can shatter the axe itself. (Chapter 603)
• Because the successor is formed from Eugene's divine power and Molon's will, a broken divine axe can be recreated as flame rather than repaired as a physical heirloom. (Chapters 606–607 and 611)
