Levantein

Levantein, also called the Holy Moonlight Sword, is Eugene Lionheart's composite Divine Sword. It was forged by melting the Holy Sword, Moonlight Sword, Demon Spear Luentos, Annihilation Hammer Jigollath, and Agaroth's Divine Sword into one transparent blade centered on the Light. History

Forging the Holy Moonlight Sword

Before his duel with Gavid Lindman, Eugene shattered four of his principal weapons: the Holy Sword Altair, the Moonlight Sword, Luentos, and Jigollath. Their remnants were melted in the Light and reforged around Agaroth's Divine Sword. The result first appeared as a glass-clear blade containing Altair's radiance, the Moonlight Sword's ominous light, and the powers of both Demon King relics. Eugene named it Levantein when its intermingled lights ignited into dark crimson flame. (Chapter 532)

Levantein's public debut established both its power and its initial instability. It snapped and melted chains carrying the power of Incarceration and served as Eugene's repeatable Divine Sword, but its output was too great for him to control freely. He had to lower its firepower and rely on his sanctuary, Prominence, and Ignition to survive wielding it against Gavid. (Chapters 532–534)

Growth through the Demon King battles

The sword reproduced its constituent weapons in altered forms. Luentos's Spear Forest became a spatial wall of flames; Jigollath's force manifested as crushing, shattering pressure; and the Moonlight Sword could reappear through moonlight and explosive shards. Levantein defeated Gavid's defenses and became Eugene's principal weapon against Noir Giabella. (Chapters 533–535 and 557)

During the battle with Noir, Eugene used Levantein as the conduit for more divine power than his body could hold. He plunged its glass blade into his own chest, where it dissolved into flame and Light and fused with him. This completed his union with the Light, after which the sword could reside in his heart rather than remaining only an external object. (Chapter 565)

A sword within Eugene

Fusion did not end Levantein's use. Eugene could still draw or manifest it, while the Demon King of Incarceration recognized it as a catalyst linked to the Light within Eugene's heart. It cut open Babel's barrier, fueled Divine Swords during the battle with Incarceration, and supplied divine flame and power inside Destruction. (Chapters 577, 581–582, 593, 603, and 607)

Abilities and properties

• Levantein combines Altair's sacred radiance, the Moonlight Sword's destructive moonlight, Luentos's spatial Spear Forest, Jigollath's pressure and explosive impact, and Agaroth's Divine Sword in one weapon. (Chapters 532–535 and 557)
• Its crimson divine flames can melt the powers of Incarceration, instantly incinerate flesh on contact, and extend far beyond the physical blade. The completed weapon was intended to overcome demonic immortality and ultimately burn Destruction. (Chapters 532 and 536)
• The sword can express its ingredients selectively: a wall of flame replaces Spear Forest, a giant hammer-shaped flame delivers Pressure, and Moonlight can form an Empty Sword or a storm of cutting shards. (Chapters 533, 535, and 557)
• It acts as a conduit between Eugene and the Light. After fusing with his heart, it can remain internal, feed Divine Swords, or manifest again as a blade. (Chapters 565, 582–583, 593, and 603)
• Its initial output exceeded Eugene's safe control. Proper use required a sanctuary or Ignition, resonating with it caused pain and bleeding, and full power risked the wielder's self-immolation even though the sword itself would not break. (Chapters 532, 534, 563, and 565)
• Levantein cannot erase every concentration of dark power without consequence. Eugene judged that using it carelessly against the corruption around Destruction might awaken Destruction instead of solving the problem. (Chapter 548)
