Annihilation Hammer Jigollath

The Annihilation Hammer Jigollath is the former weapon of the Demon King of Carnage. Its power breaks and explodes what it strikes, and its passage from the defeated Demon King through Lionheart custody ultimately made it one of Eugene Lionheart's major relics. (Chapters 19, 149, and 298)

History

A dangerous inheritance

Vermouth Lionheart obtained Jigollath after the Demon King of Carnage was slain. A later Lionheart patriarch became its master, but after that patriarch's death the clan moved the hammer to Black Lion Castle because its power made ordinary custody unsafe. (Chapters 19 and 75)

Eward Lionheart acquired the hammer during the conspiracy that attacked the main family and Black Lion Castle. He used its inherited demonic power to bring down crushing darkness and pressure, but his handling was clumsy and bound up with the Demon King remnants controlling the conflict. Eugene defeated Eward and the remnants, then took Jigollath together with the Demon Spear Luentos. (Chapters 143–149)

Rebinding the hammer

The Holy Sword and Moonlight Sword erased Jigollath's demonic power and residual will. Because the formula for its special power had been fused into the weapon itself, the cleansing left a giant, extraordinarily heavy hammer whose deeper function could not be reproduced with ordinary mana. Eugene forced his Lightning Flame Formula into it through repeated, exhausting infusions until the relic connected to him. (Chapters 149 and 157)

At first, Eugene could reproduce only a reduced version of its pressure and paid a steep mana cost. As his synchronization improved, he wielded the hammer one-handed despite its size, broke and exploded targets on impact, and used it against Jagon, the Death Knight, and Eclipse. Its most extreme rebounds threatened to tear Eugene's hands apart, while sinewy structures in the grip drank his blood as the hammer struck through powerful defenses. Reforging as Levantein

Jigollath was shattered alongside Luentos, the Holy Sword, and the Moonlight Sword and fused into Levantein. It no longer survived as an independent hammer, but Levantein could manifest its crushing pressure and the hammer-shaped force that shattered or exploded targets. (Chapters 532–533, 557, and 565)

Abilities and properties

• Jigollath's defining effect causes a struck target to break and explode. The effect is more important than the momentum of its physical swing and can destroy magical barriers or structures as well as bodies. (Chapters 263, 291, and 298)
• Its inherited Pressure draws down a vast crushing force, originally expressed through demonic darkness and later reproduced through Eugene's mana. (Chapters 143–146 and 157)
• The hammer is enormous—approximately as tall as Eugene—and exceptionally heavy, although a synchronized Eugene could eventually swing it with one hand. (Chapters 157 and 263)
• Rebinding the cleansed relic consumed enormous quantities of mana, and its first restored effects were weaker than the Demon King's original. At high output, recoil endangered Eugene's arms and the grip extracted his blood. (Chapters 157 and 298)
• Levantein retained both the pressure and explosive impact after Jigollath's physical form was sacrificed. (Chapters 557 and 565)
