Empty Badge
History
Sacred Valley gives Lindon a wooden badge marked with the ancient word for empty after his spirit fails to respond to the clan test. He keeps the badge as both imposed stigma and proof of his place, then crushes it after reaching Iron. Eithan later forges him a wintersteel version after Lindon manifests the Void Icon, turning the same symbol into an earned title. (Chapters 1, 2, 4–5, 9–10, 13, 27, 33, 38, 171)
Properties and use
The original badge has no combat power; its significance is cultural and personal. Sacred Valley badge materials normally mark advancement, so the wooden version fixes Lindon socially at Foundation. The later wintersteel badge uses the same empty character while matching the material associated with Sages, reframing emptiness as the conceptual basis of Lindon's authority.
