Nihility Devouring Flame is the sentient second-ranked Heavenly Flame whose ability to consume energy, souls, and even realm-scale matter makes it a central partner in the Hun clan's rise. The story distinguishes its projected seeds from the far stronger autonomous entity, and later distinguishes its final response inside Hun Tiandi's consumed power from proof that it regained an independent body. Biography

Devouring Seed in the Hall Chief

Nihility first acts through a black flame seed carried by the Hall of Souls chief. The seed bears a face, speaks with its own arrogance, and devours Dou Qi and soul force during the Hall's assault, but it is only a distributed portion of the original Heavenly Flame. Projecting that fragment lets the distant entity support the Hall without placing its full spirit in the confrontation, and reveals why conventional energy attacks can become fuel rather than damage when directed at it. Little Yi, Xiao Yan's fused Heavenly Flame spirit, provides the decisive counter. A fusion of six flames can overcome the lesser seed where ordinary force would be swallowed, exposing both Nihility's exceptional rank and the difference between fragment and original. The seed's defeat does not mean the true entity has been refined or killed. Instead, the encounter prepares the later revelation that a vastly stronger sentient strategist stands behind the power loaned to the Hall chief. (Chapters 1538, 1540)

Hun Clan Partner and Realm Concealment

The true Nihility is not an item owned by the Hun clan. It is an autonomous flame spirit with a Di State soul, independent speech, and enough strategic authority to operate beside Hun Tiandi as a senior partner. Their alliance gives the flame access to vast stores of souls and power, while its devouring nature helps sustain the Hun clan's bloodline system and makes concealment on an otherwise impossible scale feasible. Gu Yuan explicitly recognizes its nonhuman nature without denying its agency. (Chapters 1573, 1583–1584)

Nihility swallows or obscures the Hun Realm from detection, appears with Hun Tiandi in the Gu Realm, and later fights coalition leaders during the struggle for the Ancient God Mansion. Those choices allow the clan to erase rivals and approach the final jade operation before a united response forms. Its development from a remote seed into an on-page strategist matters: the full entity is capable of command, alliance, and self-interested planning, not merely the automatic absorption demonstrated by the projected fragment. Betrayal, Consumption, and Final Defection

Hun Tiandi's blood-sacrifice plan threatens Nihility because the partnership has ceased to preserve the flame's independent leverage. Nihility plants a devouring seed in the sacrifice energy, intending to turn the accumulated blood sea against its ally at the point of breakthrough. The maneuver is consistent with the self-interest that sustained their cooperation; it is not presented as repentance for the destroyed clans. Hun Tiandi detects the seed and reverses the betrayal by consuming the sentient flame itself. (Chapters 1641–1642)

During Xiao Yan's final Heavenly Flame formation, Nihility answers the summons from within the power Hun Tiandi absorbed and enters a flame pillar against him. The response helps complete the seal, but the text grounds it in hostility toward the one who consumed it rather than a confirmed moral conversion. Nor does the moment establish restored autonomy afterward. Its last act demonstrates that some will or responsive imprint remains available in Chapter 1647; whether the same entity survives independently beyond the formation is unresolved. (Chapter 1647)

Appearance and personality

The projected seed appears as a black flame with a human-like face. The true entity can assume a sentient, human-like manifestation, but it is also described as a Heavenly Flame born from nothingness; no single human form should therefore be treated as an immutable body. Nihility is arrogant about the reach of its devouring power and sufficiently calculating to sustain a long alliance of convenience. Its concealment of the Hun Realm, participation in clan strategy, planted betrayal, and final response against Hun Tiandi all demonstrate self-interest and memory. Abilities and cultivation

Nihility devouring

Devouring is the innate defining property of the second-ranked Heavenly Flame, described as born from nothingness. It can absorb Dou Qi, other energy, souls, and flame power, using what it swallows to replenish or expand its own force. Nihility can also distribute lesser seeds that retain a version of this effect. At full scale, the same principle supports soul harvesting, the Hun clan's bloodline system, and concealment of the Hun Realm from outside detection. (Chapters 1536–1538, 1584)

The technique has both tactical breadth and demonstrated limits. In ordinary combat it can erase incoming power or make absorption itself an attack; strategically it can hide a realm or seed an energy reserve for later betrayal. A projected seed is much weaker than the original and loses to Little Yi's six-flame fusion. At the end, Hun Tiandi's near-Dou-Di state detects the seed planted in the blood sea and consumes Nihility, showing that superior control and power can reverse even its signature method. Its latest use occurs after consumption, when the responsive flame power answers Xiao Yan's formation. That event does not establish that devouring restored Nihility to an independent state, and the corpus does not show the entity acting autonomously after entering the final pillar. The correct latest-state description is unresolved survival, not confirmed death, ownership by Xiao Yan, or continued service to the Hun clan. (Chapter 1647)

Di State soul and sentient manifestation

Long development as a Heavenly Flame spirit gives Nihility a Di State soul, speech, strategy, and direct combat agency. The exact age and process of that soul breakthrough are not supplied. This consciousness allows it to negotiate and betray, command within Hun operations, and fight as a senior combatant while remaining a flame entity rather than a human cultivator carrying a passive resource. Its sentience does not make it immune to hierarchy of force. The entity can be checked by coalition powers and ultimately consumed by Hun Tiandi after their interests diverge. Conversely, its final hostile response shows that consumption has not necessarily erased every trace of will.
